My condolences to those of you who have to connect in Philly. It's bad enough to fly in and out of, but to have to make a connecting flight must truly be
a horror.
I wish I could say don't judge the city by the airport but I can't. For the most part, it's just as bad. |

I have only flew into Philly and never flew out of it... THANK GOD! there is like one seat per every 10 people... It looked like it was the day after 9/11
when I was there and it was like a random friday in June.... The airport looks like like the Wright Brothers flew the first plane out of there it's so old
and there is virtually no shopping or eateries. The securities lines were in a cramped hall way.... It really looked terrible.
Atlanta is humongous... a lot of the staff there leave a lot to be desired and I don't think there are enough places to sit, but all in all it's manageable... I have had layovers there several times with no big problems I think Orlando is a nice airport lots of space and seating and free net. Pittsburgh airport is gigantic and has very little traffic... free net lots of places to eat and shop and comfy chairs... I recommend it! Baltimore was nice clean modern and spacious, but you have to be careful when walking from gate to gate... somehow i ended up on the other side of security and had to go through the tsa line again when i had a layover. Tampa seemed pretty nice, but I didn't spend very much time there. |

Question for those of you that have made connections in Minn-St. Paul.
Is 44 minutes cutting it close to make a connection? There's another option that's 77 minutes. |

Best- Las Vegas/Atlanta (alot of things to do)

springfeverish wrote:X! I live outside of Philly & fly in and out of there often. It's pathetic & you would expect that a supposed major city like Philly would have more to offer in its airport and it doesn't. It's truly awful. Philly has gone down the tubes in the past few years. The only thing that makes layovers tolerable for me is belonging to the United Red Carpet Club. I just go in there, pull out my laptop and work in a nice relaxed & clean atmosphere until my connection is ready. Get a few hours of work done, then declare it "happy hour" and have a couple or more glasses of wine & hop on my connecting flight. It's the only way to fly (with layovers). |

SF if I remember correctly that should be enough time. They have these awesome moving concourses. What the heck would you call them? It's not an
escalator it's like a giant conveyor belt and if you hustle while you walk on it you get to the other sections of the airport pretty damn quick.

Tdug is right, SF. I've made connections easily in Minn/St Paul that were only about an hour or just under. Most of the time, my flights would land early
and I had even more time to make the connection. You shouldn't have any problem with 44 minutes . . . unless your incoming flight is delayed. Then
you've got problems. When are you flying? Winter runs more risk of delays & missing connections, especially flying into somewhere like Minn/St. Paul.
You may want the extra time if you think you may have weather delays.

Dulles is a terrible freaking airport, and I hate flying in and out of it, which I am unfortunately doing on Monday. Too many trams/buses to take to your flight. |

Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Denver, and Tampa are all great. Cincinnati, Philly, and Oakland are the shittiest of shitholes. |

I forgot about Phoenix. I've traveled through there several times, and it's always been a pleasant experience.

I'm flying from EWR (or God forbid, Philly) to Vancouver in July so there shouldn't be weather issues. I'm going to be using my Continental
Onepass miles so that limits my flight times but there was a decent one that connected in M-SP.
eta: Phoenix is a fabulous airport. There are some really nice shops before security - I bought some earrings at the Arizona Highways store and the clerk actually made recommendations at the Barnes and Noble. I was going to blame the situation at Philly on it's being a USAir hub, but so is Phoenix so that's not it.

most of the employees at philly probably realize that most of the people traveling there aren't from philadelphia and therefore automatically hate them.

They had a Cheers there (but that was about 10 yrs. ago). Really good cheeseburger and fries, and the waitress kept filling my soda for over two hours while I sat there and read, waiting for my connecting flight. Big Red X on O'Hare. Worst connection ever there. Had to literally go from one end of the airport to the other to make a connection ... and it was on the same fucking airline -- United. Which is one of many reasons I don't fly United anymore. Milwaukee also blows. Whenever I fly Midwest out of Madison, I have to make my connection in Milwaukee. There's only one dining option there, and the food's shitty. Also, there's almost no place to sit down where you have a surface in front of you for a laptop. |

I might need to decide between changing planes in Houston, Dallas or Miami. Flights are so damn expensive. I have no real option for frequent flier miles.
Do you normally book on your own or use a travel agent???

I've never minded Newark but that's probably because it's the fricking Taj Mahal compared to JFK and LaGuardia.
