According to Colicchio, Jaime was the only one they ever really considered giving the boot, and that was because her dish was inedible. According to the Brit,
the choice wasn't as simple, but still thought it was right to boot Jaime because her food was inedible, while Leah's was bland; the lesser of culinary
sins to be sure.
Although I agree that Carla should have won, I do get the reason for Stefan's victory: the point of the challenge was to reproduce the dish. Had he made his sauce in a blender, the reproduction would have been 100% spot on. That was the challenge, and he did it. Can I just say I'm envious of the prize for winning this week? How freaking cool! |

AlwaysAwesomeAdam wrote:I usually agree with your post, but I have to say, Antonia was never in the same league as Richard and Stephanie, she just got lucky and made it as far as she did...although Lisa was luckier. At this point as least one of the lovebirds will go on to Final Four, and as boring as Leah is, I'd rather see her move on than Hosea, whom I find unbearable, probably one of the whiniest bitches ever in TC history, who also needs to get over himself like, yesterday. I'm hoping all the clips of him bitching about the Euros means he goes before them. The preview...wow, I can't believe how much Jacques Pepin has aged, but it'll be fun to see him. |

I love love love how Carla has become this grade A chef through the course of the show.
Sad to see Jamie go, but glad to hear that she recognized that she needed to be more patient with people. Sitting on Fabio's lap at the end I think all 6 of them truly get along, they are just competitive. Even Stefan has settled and is now looking less offensive (for his upcoming obvious win). I hope the last challenge is based on some originality and as someone said, not just on execution. It will make it more of a horse race, and I am believing that Carla has become a F3 threat. My ideal would be to see Hosea, Stefan and Carla now, with Carla winning it with a desert called 'Hooty hoo's chocolate love'. |

I think we all forget that Carla has Classic French Training. she may be a caterere and from the South, but she has the training many do not have.

Yeah Carla was always last picked and on the bottom towards the beginning of the show, and now that she is pulling the big guns, it is very
"surprising" that she is making it far but that's because she's been great all along...besides no one else would be noteworthy if they make
it far
I really wish Carla got the prize though...I think Ripert really liked her and always smiled wide when speaking with her...vote for Carla for the fan fave bravotv.com...

I would so love to see Stephan screw up an elimination challenge so we could see the "you are only as good as your last effort" bullshit come into
play. The judges would hem and haw and find a way to eliminate anyone but their golden boy.
You can stop watching now. The winner has already been decided. |

I thought the same this year and the last time they did the same thing (was it last season)? Defining ingredients, cutting and chopping, scaling fish are all
things I think a Top Chef should know. I can deal with those challenges, even when I would prefer a real cooking quickfire, because it fits the role. I do
NOT see how copying a dish fits the role of a top chef.

Its like how Survivor really doesn't reveal a true survivor. Just someone that can slide through all sorts of silly challenges and somehow make it to the
end.
Top Chef? Hardly. |

How fucking sweet it was to have my top 3 be top 3 tonight. I was able to breath a sigh of relief early on and didn't have to sweat it out. <33333
I totally cannot stand Hosea and his fucked up teeth. And his whining. What a pussy. STFU. And I do not like seafood for the most part, so the early challenge was making me sick just watching it. |

Since episode 3, I thought Padma might as well come out and tell everybody to pack their knives and go home, Stefan is the shoo in and rightful winner of this
season, douche that he is, or probably more accurately douche that Bravo is trying hard to portray him to be.
But, tonight's episode confounded me. I thought Jaime was definitely gonna be in the final three with Fabio a given, because of her consistent excellent cooking techniques. Are you kidding me? Carla, Hosea and Leah are still there and Jaime goes, WTF! Jaime was head and shoulders above those three. One of the guest judges asked a couple of episodes ago (paraphrasing) "It's based on this dish only right and not past performances?" Jaime got robbed. She def should have been in the final three. |

Well, that was bullshit. Jamie was the only one who I thought maybe, just MAYBE might be able to win against Stefan. Oh well. Glad Carla has been doing a lot
better - hopefully she makes it to at least F4.

I was pretty surprised that Jamie left too.
I also thought she was the one person that had a chance at beating Stefan in the finale. I think we pretty much all know who is gonna win now. Now, I am sorta hoping Leah wins so we can get at least one good WTF moment this season. |

No comments about Stefan's funny comment when he was cleaning the lobster and pulling out the vein? "This is its butt..."He has such a childish
way of giggling when he's saying 'potty' words... Priceless!

Jamie deserved to go home for dissing Ripert's dishes. You'd think Bernardin's dishes would be representative of what she strives for: Top quality
ingredients prepared in a highly refined manner. Furthermore, she looked relieved to be going home.
God, how badly I long for a Ripert/Bourdain menage. |

I fucking love Carla! She is peaking at the right moment but I'm sure she's not going to win. |

Chef Ripert thought Jamie's dish had several flaws. Salt was not the only problem, he also raves about Stefan nailing the dish:
http://www.bravotv.com/to...gs/brea...rt-0?page=0%2C1 <The black bass recipe was inedible. The celery was an embarrassment and the sauce was burned and way oversalted.> btw, according to the chefs blogs, contestants were well-aware that they'd be replicating the dishes. some were taking notes at lunch. Anybody else peeved at Leah giving us the "pouty little girl" look every time she has massively fucked up? It's offensive and disgusting. |
