If you want naked Kate..duh, The Reader, but the complex Kate was 'for me' more R.Road...and I'm reading the book now. Wow, they really used 'every' bit of that book in the movie...word for word!

That won't happen. I never expect to like her in movies (same goes with Zellweger) but I always end up doing so.

I totally disagree. I thought Revolutionary Road was a 'masterpiece' with terrific acting. There were many 'great' scenes and it was very potent re: how women had to deal with 'that kind of lifestyle' when they really didn't want to be stuck in it. It's part of the culture and it's time they showed it for what it really was. I felt it to be honest and the actors (all) put forth terrific performances. It's my favorite movie of the year. My second fav. is 'Saw 7'.

Which parts were confusing? The #1 thing was definitely when stuff was happening. Many critics have talked about how they were confused of the time some scenes were taking place. I just took one of the absurdly obvious notable 20th century events in the background, did the math in my head, and arrived at a nice answer. But I did do that a lot cause I was constantly curious at how old he was.

It makes me laugh when people say that subtitles are too distracting and that they can't pay attention to the movie when they have to gasp read, when I personally find dubbing far more distracting. Totally, cindi. you haven't seen Bandidas? =O BLASPHEMY!!! LOL, no. I hadn't heard much about it I guess. OK, I've now seen The Visitor and Frozen River. Both lead performances were terrific and very natural; not affected at all. The screenplay for Frozen River was good. Very bleak too, but good. One slight flaw was its heavy-handedness with the two main characters. Though they're not perfect people and you definitely see that throughout the movie, I felt it still tried too hard at points to make them sympathetic. Also, I thought the wrap-up with the boy's attempted credit card fraud at the end seemed thrown in there just to get it neatly tied up, at least morally speaking. Besides these and a few other minor squabbles though, it was impressive for what I'm assuming is a first-time and low-budget screenwriter.
