I think that there's a lot of GOOD to GREAT singers and voices and performers but there really isn't anyone that STANDS OUT extremely (like say as much
as I hated Hicks and Fantasia, they were memorable, not necessarily as the best singers, but you just remembered them). But it's only been two episodes...
we've got quite a ways to go.

So being a needy little bastard with no .gif powers, what's the chance someone's going to turn the bouncing bear bunny into an avatar?
If you someone doesn't, I'll sick God on all of you. |

I'm not too concerned about the talent level. For me, it's rare that someone stands out so much during the auditions (at least in terms of vocal
ability). Typically, it's Hollywood where people start to shine. I thought last year would be phenomenal because, to me, some of the performances in
Hollywood were fantastic. There were certainly great performances in the semis and finals, but in terms of potential seen, I don't think everyone lived up
to what I saw in Hollywood. With more Hollywood episodes this year, I hope more people will stand out by the time the semis roll around.

I actually kinda like how they're not very in-your-face about the good singers this year. I'm pretty excited about how all this goes down. They're
definitely much more toned down than last year's "MOST TALENTED CONTESTANTS EVER!" routine. It actually feels like they're all slowly
building people up.
and pjaded, it was the theme nights that destroyed all the potential of last year. Last year had awesome contestants who were handed horrible song choices.

I can never remember when I started liking people. The only thing I remember from hollywood week was really liking Michael Johns bohemian rhapsody. But I
didn't really like him overall. Either way, I'm not too concerned either. I think i've only REALLY like one person so far. The rest have been very
eh.

Did anyone notice that the freak from last years show (as seen in Beauvines avatar) was shown in the upcoming clips?

[Dunno if I can keep up ... the site is really slow. Anyway, here comes another odd-sounding guy.
Serious question, since he brought up the medal: Is he "special needs"? I can't tell yet. ] OMG I too thought he might have a medal from the special olympics. But then he said it was from elementary school, I thought dude that's just sad that you're still carrying that around. This freak should have listened to his mother when she told him he couldn't sing. That's the problem with 1/4 of the people on here...their parents lied and said they have wonderful singing voices. Parents of America, stop lying to your children!! |

yeah, but we hardly ever see much from hollywood week, and almost always most of the top 24 are represented in the auditions and you can tell that they have
something at least interesting if not special. We go into hollywood week with a handful of people we are interested in following on the journey, even looking
forward to seeing. At least SOMEONE who has "blown it out the box" so to speak, like Melinda, Blake, Brooke, Carly, Kat, Carrie, etc... (Brittenum
twins,
At least I remembered their auditions. I was hooked and interested to see how they did. Nobody is really standing out yet, other than the sob stories. Waiting for the precocious kid they mercilessly pimp. |

If they're intentionally editing 2-2 ties this way, does that mean Simon doesn't know? His comment that it's up to the remaining two judges would
indicate he's not the tie-breaker, doesn't think he is, or was sure that Randy and Kara were not going to both vote yes so he lied about it.
I guess we really need to see a 2-2 vote with Simon voting "No" to see what happens, and don't really know up until then (unless you guys have a link showing Simon's the tie-breaker this season). |

I think there's an article out there (might be on here somewhere) that says Simon is the tiebreaker. I remember reading it somewhere (I know, not very
helpful). Honestly, i wouldn't be surprised to see a 2-2 tie that ends in a no be shown and nothing said. In season 4 of Canadian Idol, Steffi D got a
tie vote, and Ben quickly voiced over that the last judge is the one that has the call.

pjadedd wrote: Maybe you read this article? There are a couple out there ... But before, two yeses can get someone into Hollywood-what about now that there's a possibility of a stalemate? "The biggest change is that Simon is the tiebreaker," Kara revealed. "If you agree with him, great, but if you don't, there's definitely going to be some contention there. It's kind of minute by minute now with this new tiebreaking thing, everyone on the panel could seem to be getting along, and then he says he wants to put them through or not put them through, and all hell can break loose." Or maybe this one? Cowell also revealed that, now there is an even number of judges, he is the deciding vote in the event of a tie. ("One [contestant] came in in a bikini. Of course she got a yes from us, the guys, and a no from the girls. Luckily, we got our way. I love [being the tiebreaker]. They hate it. There's been a few arguments along the way, particularly from the girls when they don't get their way."

Okay, so Simon lied to Lea Marie. Doesn't seem like him (good ol' "If I'm being honest....").
I'm a bit surprised they're trotting out this tie-breaker thing as if it's new, when they've had 4-panel judges during auditions numerous times before. |

I kinda like that Simon's the tie breaker because I think the girls have the same opinion. But, it's a little freaky because Simon didn't like
Daughtry or David Cook at first...
