I have a German Mauser (7.92MM) for such occurances.
Never been robbed or broken in too... knock on wood 
this thing will definitely ruin someones day |

Someone broke into my office in Las Vegas two days before Christmas and stole a $150 monitor and a postage machine, but left a $2000 brochure folder and a
couple of printers behind. It could have been worse, but what I hated is I decided to abandon he office because security was so lax, and I had to move my stuff
into my home.

There has been a lot of new burglary cases in town we are moving to. They all involve people leaving doors or windows unlocked, day or night.

Great, we just found out that another neighbour's car was stolen right out of her garage on Saturday night.
These things are happening with greater frequency. Our neighbourhood is nice, but we are not rich. We have an alarm system, so I guess we'll start to use it (we never have before), but the guy next door has one too and he was using it. The security company called him to inform him of the break-in this morning. |

The only increase in crime is against atm machines in my area. Seems every week another ones missing, and how do you get away with something like that?
How do they open the damn thing? |

The crack 80s/90s was a nightmare. Like Crazy Joe Davola, I should keep my door open to encourage intruders. |

There was a rash of small burglaries in my neighbourhood last october/november. 50 in 2 months or something. Turns out it was a couple of teenagers trying to
get money for their coke addiction. I knew one of them; he was my ex's neighbour. =(

I live in a low crime town. We had an issue last year where someone was preying on houses with open garage doors. Had 2 neighbors robbed within a couple of
weeks. The perps would come in and look for a purse - which I gather most women typically leave close to the garage door on a kitchen counter or table or
something. They'd grab the purse and run to use the credit cards immediately. Alternately they would shake down the cars in the garage and made off with
quite a few laptops. We started calling people who's garage doors were open after dark. Most of the time they had forgotten to close it. The police finally
caught the guys.

I don't even have a key to my house. and my car keys are always left in the ignition. we know everyone in our neighborhood though. and we have 2 very fat,
very big dogs and 2 small very noisy dogs.
