I'm so glad I didn't sit through this boring mess and just got to see Kate Winslet win Best Actress. She was superb in Revolutionary Road. Really well
deserved.

I have all the action figures and letting everyone know where they can turn to ground themselves when they get too big.. Hilarious telling some online posters to 'SUCK IT'. Anyone recognize the nicknames, they weren't from here were they?.. |

I think they are announced on the 20th or 21st though.

Goddess Kate Winslet Ownage <33 I just got back from seeing Revolutionary Road (pretty good, but fumbles all over itself in the last act), and flipped on
the Globes to see her winning finally. Little did I know she had already one earlier in the night as well!
Also Gabriel Byrne more than deserved a Globe for In Treatment, after losing out on an Emmy. I don't think there is a more fully-realized character/performance on TV at the moment. Fairly pleased across the board with the results. |

I thought that the show was okay. I'm glad that Slumdog Millionaire went 4 for 4, though. That seems like a great movie, and with India rising in global
culture, the timing couldn't be more perfect. I don't really care for 30 Rock. In fact, I'm not a big fan of situation comedies that don't have
studio audiences. Oh, there are a few that I like, but nowadays they seem a dime-a-dozen and pretentious and elitist. I didn't laugh once at clips from the
five nominees for best television comedy. Does that make me bad?
None of the five Best Original Song nominees stand out as great classics. They're serviceable, but I fear that the movie soundtrack song is dead. Mercifully, neither that song-stealing weavey wonder Beyonce Knowles nor Hannah fucking Montana won. If they get Oscar nominations, then the movie soundtrack song truly IS dead. I was pleasantly surprised to see someone win lead and supporting Golden Globes (where films are concerned) in the same year. What are the chances that Kate Winslet will take out lead and supporting Oscars this year? No one has ever done it before, but if the Academy views Kate's performances as superior to the rest, then by all means she should get both. People have won multiple Oscars in one year, though most of them were in the technical categories. Perhaps Kate will make history and win lead and supporting Oscars on the same night. It's no guarantee, but if it does happen, it would be an exciting moment. |

But then I realized I never said bad things about her. :) Thrilled that my beloved Kate won both her awards. And I haven't even seen my beloved Kate in either film yet! I better get going with that. Also thrilled to see Laura Dern win for "Recount". She was soooo good in that. |

I was going to post more, but nothing really surprised or upset me aside from Mickey Rourke winning Most Pitied Man In Hollywood.
Yay for Kate Winslet, 30 Rock, Mad Men, Anna Paquin, etc. etc. Boring show, solid wins. Bring on the Oscars. |

Angelina looked like a puke chunk. Her toothpick leg in this picture is freaking me out:
