That's amazingly accurate It's pretty obvious her goal was to maintain interest in her career, which was pretty good before S17 and should be even better after. She's actually a fairly well known actress. They gave her a "sweatheart" edit because she made moves. Her prize was NOT to win S17. That said she has nothing to gain by going back on.

Hollywood doesn't really look too kindly on people who've been on reality shows. I'd have to assume that going on Survivor would kill her opportunity of getting legitimate work as an actress because of the stigma created by an overabundance of wannabe mactors.

Overall, I would say that Sugar really knew what she was doing, I just despised that she had to screw my favorites over in order to help her acting career which was already pretty substantial.

Tocantins filmed while Gabon aired, none of contestants would recognize Sugar as the star of Gabon (which Sugar was). It'd just be random. Palau was an even numbered season so all of the players in Guatemala knew what a big deal bringing back Steph, and to a lesser extent Bobby Jon, was.

Steph had barely past the merge. They deserve another chance still, because they are good in most of the challenges but they can't get the numbers in the "supposed merge" ...so they're both deserving to come back.
