Finally saw last weeks episode. I can see why people keep tuning in week after week. It just gets better and better. Loved the scene at the end showing the
guys reading and passing around gum as Jane goes bonkers in the office. His grin when he's done with his stunts is so childlike and infectious. You
totally believe he really is having a blast.

So I am finally watching this show (because of Bruno) and I really like it.
There is only one thing that I have grown to despise and that it the fucking music that plays at the end of each scene. It is HORRENDOUS. They really need to hire the dude who scored Rome or the dude that scored Xena or anyone other than the 3rd rate hack behind the synthesizer. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so much |

I first noticed Baker in the movie Something New, and then I was really excited when he was on Smith. Now Im glad The Mentalist is doing so well, he totally
deserves it.
The supporting cast sort of sucks tho. I cant stand the red haired chick and her bf. They need to get rid of those two. I like the Asian and Robin is decent. |

Good episode though I KNEW that dude wasn't gonna tell him shit about Red John. Lisbon showed more personality. I like that.

OK, I wanted to hate this show so badly because it keeps beating Fringe in the ratings, but I couldn't help but download it since I'm a sucker for
crime shows, and it is going along pretty decently so far. I find Jane charming and awesome despite his ego, I love Cho as well, and Rigsby and Van Pelt show
promise (despite the latter irritating me in the pilot with the religious schtick). 2 questions though:
1) Does Lisbon always have her stank-bitch face on? People complain about Anna Torv on Fringe, but really... 2) During the serial redhead abduction case in episode 2, how did Lisbon know to return to the motel room? I thought she was intended on heading back to the restaurant to bail the others out, or was it a set-up she already had with Jane I wasn't aware of? Oh and I lol so often at this show, like during the pilot when Jane read Rigsby and Van Pelt's body language, told Van Pelt to accept Rigsby's offer if he invited her to his room, and then Rigsby spitting out his drink.

Hmm, Red John is always one step ahead of them, got to Tijuana ahead of them, knows what they're planning. So, any chance it's their police chief guy? At first, he didn't want them to investigate Renfro's claim, but then backed off. He said he was going on a week's vacation. I had to look his character name up on imbd. It's Virgil Minelli. "He is M......." ?? Just conjecture. What an awesome show. |

Love the theory, but hope it isn't true. I don't want to know the answer to the mystery yet! Maybe it's just me, but this show is making it seem easy to figure everything out, if only you have your eyes and ears open for clues.... I want to be a mentalist! |

You know what I mean...
Wuming - I like both shows. I watch The Mentalist on tv and Fringe online. Totally different shows so I enjoy both. (I like Olivia a lot more than Teresa, that's as far as I'll go with comparisons.) The answer to your first question is kinda sorta yeah, but I do like Teresa and thought she was a little more animated in this eppy. I paused the Tivo to read the message. Bruno Heller said in an interview that the Red John storyline will run through the entire arc of the series, so I'm sure there will be a few dozen red
herrings along the way before the final mystery is solved. And if the ratings stay at this level, that final reveal could be many years away. :)

I like this show. I wasn't onboard for awhile, but now that I don't try to take it too seriously it's much more fun for me! It's refreshingly
simple. And Simon Baker has a great smile.
