The only obvious casting decision is Morgan Freeman as Nick. Not Nick the character, just his narrative. I
would pay a hundred thousand dollars to hear Morgan Freeman read the book from start to finish.

Um, Gatsby is narrated by a white guy- not an old black dude. Morgan's narration is so old hat now and so obvious an oscar bait that it would either put
people to sleep or make them roll their eyes.

according to wikipedia, Gatsby is supposed to be 29-30 and Nick is 29, so a 30s actor like Christian Bale or Jude Law would work |
