I think that Ariane's win this week was totally different from the lamb for Gail's shower or the salad for the Today Show challenge. Those were wins
she probably didn't deserve. The Martha Stewart one, she did. The cauliflower puree sounded like it was amazing - Martha talked about how it tasted like a
lot of butter was used, when in fact, none was used. That's good cooking.
I don't care what the dish is as much as how it is made. Even if her deviled eggs had been THE BEST DEVILED EGGS EVAH, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. I resent her win on the lamb one because Ariane wasn't responsible for what made the dish good. I resent her win on the Today Show one because I don't think those creepy yentes are qualified judges, and I think that the win should be decided by people who know what they're talking about... |

Does Bravo think we're more inclined to watch because it's a faux-holiday episode pre-filmed? I would rather watch a straight forward challenge and not have it dumbed down to where we're believed the challenges were done yesterday. I love how Ariane keeps winning just by not burning her shit. And I think the reason Jamie keeps working side by side her is because she's trying to sabotage her Ariane's dish. I've hated that bitter dyke ever since the "rainbow team" bullshit. We get it, you're gay. Get over it! What is up with these stupid fucking prizes?!?!?! Signed cookbooks?????? Fuck you and your book, bitch! I think that's an even worst product placement than Glad or Swanson. And these chefs know how to cook already (well, most anyhow) so they don't need to read up on shit every housewife can cook up. If I wwere them, that shit'd be up on eBay the next day. Hosea just went on my hate list. When he "won", he was all congratulatory on himself until Natascha said everyone will get her fucking signed book for helping out. After which he snapped out of it and said, "Oh yeah, thanks everyone" Ungrateful prick. Even Radhika acknowledged it before the winner was announced. Hmmm... because there was no elim this episode (which I'm still ticked because any of the bottom 3 should've gone) I'm dreading the double elim episode where my sweet Fabio might be at risk (he hasn't been so great these past couple challenges) |

I think it's hilarious that so many of you seem so upset about who wins a challenge. Because, really, it means shit. They get nothing, other than a
reputation to live up to, by winning it. Plus whatever bullshit prize (occasionally a good one) they hand out. It's the quickfire that gives them immunity.
And to clarify a misrepresentation ... I never said i would AIM for the middle. I said I wouldn't be whining and pouting if that was where I fell in the
judging. Of course, you'd always aim for the top.

I agree that it's impossible to actually judge the food, but it's not impossible to pick who you think is the "best chef". When someone
constantly churns out food that everyone enjoys, chances are they're a pretty good fucking chef. When someone's dishes are constantly berated, they
might be a fine chef, but they're probably not cut out for this competition. Anywho, that doesn't really have much to do with who your favorite is.
Personally, I like CrazyCarla, and she's clearly not the best on the show. But I did think Lisa made it way further than she should have last season.

the Big Brother boards.. now THOSE people are psycho! ;)
Oddly, I am not upset at Arianne's win on the today show. It was probably because her food WASN'T snooty and catered to "regular" diners. (Well, except for Kathy Lee because she's better than everyone else in the world anyway.) Since I am not a gourmand/gourmet/whatever, there tend to be very few winning dishes I would ever actually want to eat. I want to see a chef who can make an over the top dish with everything exotic you could think of, yet cook me a real meat and potatoes meal. I used to tell my parents, if a restaurant has valet parking, I probably won't want to eat there ;) |
