Jessica Robinson Jessica was one of those contestants who started out so slow, I thought for sure she would be an early boot. She constantly found herself in the bottom three and in danger of being eliminated. However, every time her neck was on the line, she was able to deliver with a solid INXS performance to keep her hopes alive. It seemed like the more she got put into the Bottom 3, the better she became. She had quite a few clunker performances along the way, such as Come as You Are and Purple Haze. Her performance of Torn was probably her best on the show. Besides being super hot, she had a very large and deep singing voice. I don't know if this was the right genre for her, but she definitely had some potential.

I must admit that my opinion on Zayra has morphed a bit since the show originally aired. When it was on, I thought she was a talentless hack who only stayed on the show because all the judges wanted to fuck her. I mean seriously - her voice was not cut out for a hard rock and roll band and her performances were just downright laughable. Why would they even put her on the show? I was so relieved when she was finally eliminated because I thought she was taking away a spot from a more deserving contestant. If she would have outlasted Magni or something - that would have been a travesty. But like I said my post show impression of her has morphed. I still don't like her singing voice, but her performances and her outfits are so LOL-worthy that I can't help but appreciate what she brought to the show. She was never a serious contender, but she was such a colorful contestant that no one who watched the show will soon forget about her. I found that she was better when she sang slower songs, as illustrated by the following YouTube clips.

Deanna appeared on Rockstar INXS, and was kind of "meh" to me for a while. She definitely had a tough, rocker voice. But most of her performances were pretty much her shouting and screaming everything. Sometimes, it fit and it worked. Other times, it didn't sound so great. It wasn't until she showed more of her softer side that I became a fan. She really does have a beautiful singing voice, and I wish she had utilized it more often throughout the show. She made it far and had a lot of strong performances as the show went on. A few of her bottom three INXS performances were phenomenal. And her original song "My Truth" was one of the better ones. Overall, a good contestant, but clearly not roight for the band. I think Deanna may have been a better fit for the second season than the first.

She had a very strong singing voice, although she too often resorted to just shouting the lyrics to many songs. She had many good performances, but apparently wasn't popular with the voters as she would often wind up in the bottom 3. Jill was also pretty smoking hot for an older lady. I don't know what else to say about her, other than that I liked most of her performances and thought she should have made it farther. I don't blame the band for eliminating her though because she did wind up in the bottom 3 a lot. Here are a few of her more praised performances - Alone by Heart and Bring Me to Life.

I loved everything about him - his stage presence, his goofy attitude, the way he sang.... He never wore any shoes during his performances. Vocally, he sounded a lot like whoever that Black Crowes singer is, except maybe a little bit more nasally. He was perhaps a little bit too bluesy/southern rock-ish for the band. I knew he was never going to win, although I hoped he would make it farther so I could see more performances. I liked his wardrobe choices, and he always had a good choice of song. A few of his favorite performances of mine are Sweet Home Alabama, If You Could Only See, Hard to Handle, and Devil Inside. He must not have a huge fanbase because there isn't much from him on Youtube. He would defo have ranked a lot higher if only he had made it farther. Brandon was one of the most colorful contestants from Season 1, and I was very sad to see him go.

Mig Ayesa I never understood the voters' obsession with this guy. Yeah, he had a ton of rock solid performances, but he was very flamboyant and over pimped by the judges. I don't know how he escaped until the last vote never getting in the bottom 3. Don't get me wrong, he did deserve his high placing. I just don't know why people were so in love with him compared to the awesomeness of the other contestants. He seemed more like a Broadway guy than a rocker to me. Anyway, despite my criticisms, Mig is still a talented guy who churned out a whole bunch of good performances.

Yeah she came out strong with Baba O'Reilly, but for the most part the rest of her performances were lackluster. Heart Shaped Box was pretty good, but the Man Who Sold the World was terrific. Otherwise though, I am hard pressed to find a performance of hers I thought was amazing. She seriously, seriously fell apart towards the end of the show. Again, despite the criticisms, she is ranked high for several reasons. She does have a good singing voice, and when she really gets going with the perfect song, she can be incredible. She's also pretty hot for a dreadlocked punk chick. And her aforementioned version of Man Who Sold the World stands as one of the most, if not THE most favorite performance of mine on any reality singing show evah. It is really amazing and heartfelt <3 I included it in the first Youtube clip below. Without that performance she probably would have ranked a few slots lower. Jordis has amazing potential, but due to her clunking down the stretch can not be ranked any higher than this.

I never got the voter/band hype either. When the show first started, I did not like him at all and thought he was really boring. His performances were kind of flat and safe. Didn't stand out at all. This trend repeated for several weeks, and I thought for sure he would be an early boot. But then came Losing My Religion. Ryan delivered one of the best performances of the entire season that week. His slow, piano version of the REM hit was beautiful, and enough to instantly metamorphose me into a fan. His performance the next week wasn't great once again, and he found himself in the bottom 3 for the first time. Ryan was able to come back with a harder version of Enjoy the Silence from Depeche Mode to save his skin. I loved that performance too. Although the comments on the Youtube page are mostly negative saying he butchered it Ryan put forth a few more good performances before finally getting the axe at F6. Lurved his In the Air Tonight as well as his original song. His elimination performance of Baba O'Reilly, however, was fucking horrible and can directly be attributed to his downfall. Overall, Ryan started slow but really picked it up and made a fan of me as the show went on. If only he had started stronger, he may have been moved up a few spots on this list.
