People who rank Borneo and Outback as the two lowest seasons aren't true Survivor fans.

My new list
Tier 1 1. Survivor The Australian Outback 10/10 - There are many reasons why I would rank Australia as my favorite season. A lot of discussion around here focuses on character development and no one can deny the fact that Australia had just that. Although looking back eight years later I think its safe to say that many of these characters were edited in an unfair stereotype. This was survivor at its peak and bein a dedicated viewer since the very begining I for one appreciated it. I think many people here who started watcing survivor post All Stars would find seasons 1-3 extremley boring but I dont and I think others can back me up on this. For one I love Australia because it was Survivor. No other season has come close in depicting the actual survival part. This was hardcore. And the flood episode continues to be my favorite episode of survivor of all time. I felt we knew the caracters and a lot of people here may say well it was so boring those last few episodes but I disagree. The finale itself was amazing. Many call it boring but listening to the castaways speak of how the experience changed their lives was extremely interesting for me. Because if the slim chance I make it on the show, Id be there for personal growth. The relationships were amazing, storylines were amazing and its soooo pleasant for once to see an unbitter jury. I just get so nostalgic thinking about this season. Everything about this season was amazing. Forest fires, floods, starvation, beef jerkey, cliff jumping, underdogs, villians, favourites. I could go on but that season definetly deserved to be the most watched show of the year. It delivered every damn week! Every character is memeroable in their own way. The season never gets old. Love - Most everyone Amber, Elisabeth. Jerri, Alicia, Colby, Tina, Kimmi 2. Survivor Borneo - 9.8/ 10 I could almost put this in a 2 way tie with Australia. Borneo holds a special place for me. It was the first episode I ever watched. It was the finale. Everyone in the neighborood was going in to watch this show. So I thought why not. And I fell in love with it instantly. To be a part of a viewing audience that included 55 million people is incredible. Yeah this season may have been retarded strategically I just dont care. Its not always about the game for me that turns me on. It had everything else oin for it..Amazing character development most of all. There is something very original and pure about this season. I like the absence of music in the backround. It made it seem more real. Everyone had a storyline whether you were one of the first people voted out or one of the last people left standing. And the best part about this season. The challenges didn't take up half the FUCKING show. This is a season I can almost quote a few episodes. I just love it. So many great moments. Loved - Everyone , Jenna, Colleen, Kelly, Rich, Sue, Stacey, Gretchen, Gervase, Sean 3. Survivor Micronesia - 9.2/10 Survivor Micronesia was the first season in a long time that I couldnt get enough of. It brought my love for Survivor back. Interesting enough its the one season where character development was extremley lacking, but I found the blindsides to be sooo entertaining. Such a great cast. I absolutely loved everyone (except Jason, Ozzy, and Joel). Those post mere tribal counclis were the most entertaining Tribal Councils ive ever seen. The Erik TC still can give me goosebumps and at the same time fill my head with frustration watching such idiocity unfold on my television screen. I loved the womans alliance and I actually found humor in this season and an easy going attitude that I think Survivor lacks. I loved Parvati and was soooo stoked when she won it. Natalies OTT epit out of nowhere <33.. And I actually found camplife post merge and in episodes 1-4 to be entertaining. For me its about the people and I just loved this cast and the personalites they had and how the season unfolded. Loved - Parvati, Amanda, Alexis, Tracy, Natalie, Erik, Eliza Ill edit more later. lolz |

I can't really rank them, but
the ones I liked: Borneo, Outback, Marquesas, Vanuatu, Guatemala, China, Micronesia, Gabon so-so: Amazon, Pearl Islands, ASS, Palau, Exile Island, Cook Islands didn't like: Africa, Thailand, Fiji Honestly I think Cook Islands would have been better had they kept the 4 racial tribes until a merge at 10. The first two episodes showed a lot more potential. I could see Micronesia moving to the "so-so" column in a few years. Too many forgettable characters. Vanuatu is underrated here. Exile Island is a bit overrated. Outback, IMO, will always be the gold standard for Survivor seasons.

I don't agree with Sensei about it being the most poorly edited season. With Bobby, yes, but I think everyone had a fair enough edit. *Sigh*, it could have been edited better though. Nonetheless, Casaya was a great tribe and Terry was a very good antagonist. |

Panama is a great season imo. I don't agree with Sensei about it being the most poorly edited season. I didn't say it was poorly edited. I just said that it is responsible for everything I hate about modern Survivor. You start adding extraneous shit to the game (Exile Island, hidden idols, more than 2 tribes, extraneous swaps and twists), then you take away from the characters. That's not just Exile Island, that is just about every modern Survivor season. Exile Island is just the one responsible for that. But hey, at least they didn't have a final three yet. So that's something. |

Like I said before, I'm not going to try and change someones personal opinion on something like a Survivor season. I am against the HII/Exile Island, the
final 3 and other game based twists that contribute nothing to the show that I find interesting. However, since it was the very first time it happened, I am
giving it a break, and it helps quite a great deal that it is a 16 person season(As a general rule, any season with over 18 people can not be a good season
imo). The editing was poor because the producers are notorius for being politically correct. I think if the editing team were a little more willing to show the
footage with less bombast in praise of Terry just because he wins challenges and is a fighter pilot, it would be an excellent season. As far as Casaya goes, I
give Shane the benifit of the doubt. He may have been acting a little, but noone on the show actually reveals everythingabout themselves to a national
audience, and for once I was really touched by a loved ones visit(Boston). The Casaya tribe was hilarious, and the antagonism with Terry was great, but yeah, I
agree it is a flawed season on editing alone.

I am perhaps in the minority, but I actually found the mens tribe more interesting than the womens tribe, so watching their pagonging was painful. Besides Eliza, I thoroughly disliked almost everyone of them(though I have warmed to Ami and Twila recently). Also Chris was pretty unlikable and the premire ranks among the worst. It is my least favorite season. |

I think odd-numbered starting tribes are actually something that should be avoided if possible. When you have 9 or 7 people (Exile Island) it's too easy
for the tribes to collapse into 5-4 or 4-3 majorities.
