I love the looks and feel of the French door fridges, but would hate groveling on my navel to get stuff out of the freezer drawers.
Side-by-side for me ... that "look" built in. I think the buzz word is "counter depth."

But I use the freezer "floor" to pour the booze! I pour with the glass and bottle sitting right inside the freezer. It's just the right height.
No bringing stuff out to the counter and making a mess. And lifting bottles of booze out of a bottom drawer seems like back breaking work.
