The movie was basically an allegorical re-buke of Reagan era yuppie-ism. Obviously, the elections make that viewpoint dated, and you know that Hollywood isn't going to turn the aliens into "spread the wealth" liberals.

Actors are soon to be replaced by synthetic computer enhanced versions if they haven't already begun this process.

Filmjunk indirectly quotes Bruce Campbell saying that the "Evil Dead" remake will not feature the Ash character (or anyone else from the original, for that matter), but that post is two years old. Who knows?

While I don't think they'd ever remake JAWS, I could see Spielberg possibly pulling a Lucas in the future and CG-ing the shit out of the shark for a re-release. Bruce hasn't exactly held up too well over time. Plus they could make the explosion BIGGER! spoiler the shark gets blown up at the end. It'd be a shame to get rid of that original white shark footage by Ron & Valerie Taylor though considering it was some of the earliest on-camera shots of the animal after "Blue Water, White Death". yes, I am a nerd when it comes to this movie

The Thing, also spectacular. Why God, why?? All these remakes... I don't get it. If these are classics then why not treat them with more respect? However, I was whole heartedly against a Dawn of the Dead remake and then I actually ended up not hating it. It was different enough to where I could not get so upset. If these remakes are closer to "reimaginings" then maybe it will be ok. All different characters and everything. I'm going to be very worried about all of this.

Why pay money to see a remake in a theater, when you can watch the original (and usually better) version on dvd at home. Of course, if they ever remake Teen Wolf, I'll change my mind.
