Feeling like hell today and yesterday. I'll post about Friday later tonight if I don't just sleep around the clock.

OK. I can't go into any huge details about where we went. There was a big event that she previously committed to on Friday, so I went as her date. Before that we went for dinner to a very authentic Japanese place. None of this Benihana stuff. I love Japanese food, but portion size is lacking. I had miso soup, a tempura platter, and some kind of lightly grilled beef slices. She had sushi, some veggie dish, and a bit of my tempura.

So we went to this event and it was a bit of a stiff, schmoozy affair. Drinks and a small sampling of h'ors deuvers. Here's the problem with the Japanese food. It was mainly soup, and the soup was mainly broth. One visit to the rest room and I was starving. Famished. I'm good at schmoozing, so I did that for a while and after a couple hours my stomach was eating itself. So I ducked away to the lobby and found the nearest snack machine and annihilated a Wonderbar.

Went back and spent even more time making chit chat with people I didn't know. Bored out of my skull, but hopefully no one knew it. She was happy though, which was the important thing.

After that I asked if she wanted to go to her place and she said no because we couldn't be alone. So we went to my place and the evening got much better from there. Drove her home about 3am (started developing a tickle in my throat) and when I got home devoured three peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches after expending so much energy on an empty stomach.

Saturday we were supposed to do something like go to the movies, but I woke up with a hellacious cold or flu. About 3 days later she did as well. So we are both waiting these out.
