I actually didn't enjoy this episode all that much, and that surprised me a bit because I am very glad that Randy got voted out. I think the reality is intruding on the edit a bit. What Sugar (and Bob) did was actually pretty cruel and unnecessary, and like Susie, I actually felt sorry for Randy by episode end. But that isn't the editing intent at all! The editors played this as a straightforward "laugh at Randy's expense" episode. There was no suspense and little tension. As much as I disliked Randy, the gloating about his added humiliation was a bit much.

Randy - OTTN. Despite the sympathy I felt for him, the clear intent was to make him awful and deserving of his fate. He was set up for the audience to laugh at him throughout the episode.

Corinne - MORN. I'm not seeing the CP. Sure she talked strategy with Randy and discussed the importance of immunity, but where's the complexity, where's the choice, where's the internal conflict. And sorry, she's still N. We're meant to laugh at her almost as much as at Randy.

Bob - MOR(P). I think the intent is P, but like most here, I find the unnecessary fooling of Randy a bit cruel, particularly for Bob, who had no real reason to justify it. Someone mentioned they thought Bob was going after the EI scene - I did too, thinking Matty would get his way after all. I think such a P moment suggests the editing intent is for us to side with Bob and justify his fooling of Randy as a means of getting in good with Sugar. I think the reality is that Bob doesn't know what he's doing strategically, didn't like Randy all that much, and enjoyed the chance to please a pretty young girl. This could have been a good CP episode for him if he had even hinted at considering not giving Randy the fake idol, but apparently any editing weight to the drawbacks of the fake idol foolery would have further messed up its P editing intent.

Sugar - MOR. That's probably not accurate, but I was having problem justifying anything else. I could see an argument for CP since we certainly got inside her head, but there wasn't much complexity or struggle there. She knew what she wanted to do, and she accomplished it. Is she OTT? She's certainly not portrayed as an OTTN villain (except in the minds of Randy and Corinne fans) despite the cruel reality of her plan, but neither can I get behind OTTP precisely because her plan was cruel (and she shared the wrong in the auction cookie incident). The editors probably want us to feel positively toward her, but I can't do it - not this episode.

Matty - CP. I think his efforts to save Randy, and his resignation at Randy blowing those efforts is enough for this, but its weak. Is there tone? Not really, and the most significant scene for the long term this episode may be Sugar's observation that Matty is trying to take control. I doubt that bodes well for him.

Ken - MOR. He really did cool down a lot this episode, which is a good thing after last week. He won immunity, and he played a major role during the auction, but those scenes would have been hard to ignore. He was an afterthought in the rest of the episode (which removes him from the fake idol plan).

Crystal - UTR. She cooled down even more than Ken, but she had a longer string of visibility to counter (and she didn't have the impact in the auction or IC that Ken did). Her signature moment of the episode was her loud TC vote. I'm sorry, Randy fans. He may not have actually deserved the idol trickery, but he certainly did deserve Crystal's voting rant. She clearly wanted him to know she was voting for him. Considering their past history, this was not an N moment at all.

Susie - MOR. She won the bath and then barely used it. She was insulted by Randy, which was brought up at TC. And she was Randy's boot target. It is all reporting.
