I finally got to watch the first episode and my only question is, WTF is wrong with Gail Simmons? She has lost weight in her face, had her lips done, had some botox around her eyes and mouth, but I really want to know what she's trying to pull of here with one foot in front of the other and off balance. This had a bigger impression on Tivo than it does on youtube, but she just looks sooo uncomfortable.

long fingernails are gross foodwise. same with rings. food gets under them. I have long fingernails and I'm constantly having to scrub them when I cook.
even the next day at work, I find food under them. if I was a real chef, I would have these nasty fuckers cut to the nub. and my nails aren't fake -
they just grow that way. it's hell peeling eggs.

The way Padma looked at her made me chuckle too, its almost like she noticed the awkward pose as well. Regardless of what Gail was trying to accomplish there, it was obviously uncomfortable, stiff, and awkward. That horrible dress didn't help her case either. Now that I think about it, she is probably uncomfortable about her size since most of the way she is sitting down and has a table to conceal areas she might be self conscious about. I also don't know if I buy her measurements on her wikipedia article. |

My nephew just got an Associate's Degree from the CIA in NY. I don't see him very often, but next time I do I'll have to ask him if he knows
Patrick. It's kind of funny - the CIA website shows Leah, Ariane, Patrick, Lauren, Jamie and Danny and says "The Top Chefs come from the CIA. Tune in
to Bravo on Nov. 12 and see them in action"- hope the other alumni fare better.
Gail's bio photo on the Bravo website shows her in that same dorky pose. I guess she thinks it's flattering. |
