Posts: 6225 (10/25/08 5:06 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I'd give this season a "4" in entertainment value....a "5" is like a Discovery Channel series on a day where you had nothing else to do...so I definitely feel like I'm wasting my time watching the new episodes of Sunny and I certainly won't be sticking around for Season 5. Just wanting to finish off this season entirely so I can be caught up completely & leave the chance that it might improve next year or whatever although it's a rarity for a comedy to make a full-blown comeback. Basically, if I watch the rest of this season, then I could catch S5 years down the road on DVD if someone recommends it. I did the same with My Name Is Earl (watched all of Season 2 before bolting) and Everybody Hates Chris (watched the awful second half of the 1st season before leaving). As for last season, I'd give it about a "6".....plenty of average episodes but there were some great moments scattered about and three or four that I liked in their entirety (rock star episode in particular while the football one had plenty of great stuff).....

The only good plots always revolve around Dee, and the bad ones always revolve around Frank.

Posts: 327 (10/27/08 9:30 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I still think that this season has been pretty hilarious overall. Not as good as the first three if I had to choose, but I don't really think there's a huge drop-off. Some other shows I've really liked (The Office S1-2) or shows that I absolutely loved (Dexter S1) have disappointed me so much in how bad they've become, so I'm that much happier that I still love Always Sunny this season. What's bothering you guys? That the plots and characters are getting more and more outrageous and wacky?

The episodes begin to focus more on this "big star" than the cast that made it funny and for some reason the boring, less funny characters get more storytime than the funnier ones (i.e. Dennis and Mac). If it wasn't for the Frank character, Dennis would be the most annoying character on the show and unfortunately he gets the majority of the airtime. All the episodes I've hated from season's past focused mainly on him. For example the Tree Episode.

Posts: 6300 (10/28/08 7:16 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I dont think the plots are any wackier than last season (for the most part) I just think this season hasn't been funny. Too many times Frank and Dennis are involved in the main plot and the best characters Dee and Charlie are relegated to the sub-plot. Also I think their groupings are way off a lot of the time, the only time Dennis is funny is when he is with Dee, and they have still yet to have a Dennis/Dee episode this season. I think the Frank character hasn't been funny since Dennis and Dee stopped considering him their father, it was funny when they found their real dad, but they should have kept it that they considered Frank their dad since he raised them, now that he is one of the gang it just sucks.

Her parts of the episodes almost always make me laugh. Mac is hit and miss, Dennis is more hit than miss, Charlie is generally hit, and Frank is generally miss. That said, Artemis is always hit (in her bleached asshole, I imagine).

Didn't find myself laughing at it as much at first, but things picked up toward the end. Loved Dee taking off on broomstick!

I dont want to have to quit watching this show and only have one non-reality show left that I watch (Samantha Who?)

But I actually really liked it and found it quite clever. The characters were all perfect in their 1776 iterations of themselves. Holy shit to Cricket's head exploding!

After Frank was considered "one of the gang"...well, he pretty much lost his purpose. What I really liked about the second season was that it had a cotinuing story-arc throughout surrounding Frank which I thought was a nice touch that glued everything together. I also don't think it's been wackier than last season. Again, had Season 3 been reigned in a bit and it didn't feel like they were trying so hard, it could've been as good as the first two in my eyes. This season, they've just absolutely lost their timing. I'm definitely out of here once the season ends and I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.

It was a perfect shaggy dog story. It kind of reminded me of The Aristocrats.

Love this promo, it had me rolling: I can only hope the entire season is that funny, because I thought season 4 was a big dud. I'm hoping for at the very least a return to season 3 form where I still enjoyed the majority of the episodes. I can't ever see it being as funny as it was seasons 1 & 2 again, but if it can get back to season 3 form I'll be content.

An occasional Charlie & Dee episode is good, but I thought the mix was just all wrong last season. The only episode I really loved was Charlie's musical, that was pretty hilarious. I did love that promo though, Kitten Mittens

Christmas is upon us and the Paddy's gang has got the spirit. Well, not really. For them, the holidays have always been a time of trickery, backstabbing, and disappointment. But this year things are going to be different as they are determined to rediscover the joy in Christmas. Join Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Dee and Frank as they embark on a holiday adventure filled with stolen toys, childhood videos, naked elves, and a bloody run in with Santa Claus that is guaranteed to blast Christmas spirit all over you! I'm looking forward to seeing this because there is so much potential material in a Christmas episode that they have yet to exploit, hope its good!
