Normally you don't wash rice before you boil it as it's already ready to go.
But here, seriously pick the fucking rice up and rinse it out. The worst is that it's still bad and you throw it out. The best is that you still have rice. |

Washing it is good for getting off grit/dirt, but it is boiled plenty long to kill any germs. In their situation, there's no reason I can think of why dropping the rice is anything other than an inconvenience. |
