We lived near Lew Wallace right off of Grant Street, until we moved to Cal Township (Ranburn Woods). I went to Holy Trinity and then Andrean :p

Andrean? One of my best friends was ordained at the old cathedral in Gary. Another of my best friends was a rockboy who stayed near the park at the end of
Grant Street (we used to shoot hoops there, don't let it get to 40 degrees the shirts came off) ...
ETA: Lew Wallace? We used to hit the drive-thru of this little joint near Lew Wallace to get the Gyro plate with extra souvlaki sauce. Good times.

SDog has been everywhere. But if tells me he knows folks at Downpatrick on the way to Belfast, I'll bloody flip.

Never been to Belfast, unless changing planes at Heathrow counts. You'd have to be from the Chicago - NWIndiana area to know what a "rockboy" is,
though.

When's the last time you were around that way. I still have family there, so I get there every once in a while. My house in the midwest is in south suburban Chicago, although I'm in NY/NJ currently. |

LOL my former colleague went to Roosevelt U. Stayed a couple of blocks away in the mid 90s. Saw a Cubs game. Good times.

CallMeMadam wrote: Yes, and let's have a look a some of the factors that went into that WHO report... This study bases its conclusions on such highly subjective measures as "fairness" and criteria that are not strictly related to a country's health care system, such as "tobacco control." For example, the WHO report penalizes the United States for not having a sufficiently progressive tax system, not providing all citizens with health insurance, and having a general paucity of social welfare programs. Indeed, much of the poor performance of the United States is due to its ranking of 54th in the category of fairness. The United States is actually penalized for adopting Health Savings Accounts and because, according to the WHO, patients pay too much out of pocket.19 Such judgments clearly reflect a particular political point of view, rather than a neutral measure of health care quality. Notably, the WHO report ranks the United States number one in the world in responsiveness to patients' needs in choice of provider, dignity, autonomy, timely care, and confidentiality.20 link |

All you've managed to do is prove that no matter what your point or position, there will always be an article somewhere that backs you. gj!

Now Bob don't be using facts on libs. It makes them pissy I never did get an answer. I have double coverage, why can't I use my extra coverage for a family that needs it? BTW I have great coverage, never pay for any medical have 100% dental and get an extra 36 bucks added to my check because I have leftover funds |

Why would it matter if I was ever in Gary? And why would I ever go there if I could smell it all the time while growing up?
It turns out that the sister (?) of a former mayor of Gary was a tenant of ours. Apparently the dude took a vacation in jail because of embezzling funds from the city or sumthin'. There's really not that much difference between Gary and Chicago except that Michael Jackson is from Gary.
