I think we can clearly conclude that Blake was going to give Crystal an OTTN no matter what happened this episode unless he could justify an INVN. N? Perhaps for losing her temper at TC, but that was more reporting of a dramatic confrontation than intended N editing. Other than that, the editors went out of their way to show Crystal in the best light possible while still showing why she was in danger at TC. OTT? Clearly not when the whole storyline on Fang was her working to overcome the impression others were painting of her as unstable. (And this character development was clearly intentional since the editors could have easily left the storyline as Crystal the moody athlete lashes out - Blake will argue it was anyway - but it was clearly more developed than that with Crystal getting ample time to explain her emotions in confessional, in conversation with several tribemates, and dramatically at TC. Blake may have predicted correctly that I'd rate her CPM, but I'd say that's just because he knows that is the correct edit even if he won't admit it. (In reality, I think Crystal causes a lot of her own problems with her moody attitude, but in editing, we were allowed to see things from her point of view this episode.) Wow. Is this edgic or a hate thread? I have every right to dislike a character, but it has no influence on my ratings whatsoever. Don't you dare mock me like I've never done edgic before. I've been doing this almost 2 years now, I'm not stupid. If people thought I made ratings completely based on whether I liked them or not I would have been thrown out of edgic long ago. Don't critisize me, please, there's a line and you just crossed it. Oh, and guess what ILT or TLS, I really don't care, because after my 2nd watch... CRYSTAL - CPN5 I guess you predicted wrong! As for the "racist" card by some Serena whose first 7 posts were made in here (IRONICALLY), yeah right, considering Sundra is my favorite Survivor ever. I like how TLS bitches about flf being the head-honcho and he isn't, and then makes demeaning posts like that and expects to get respect? Like, c'mon, lighten up.

Probably one of the nastiest edits ever. but is Marcus really being edited as the winner? Doesn't he still seem like he's still too much in the shadows? Sure, we get a little filler stuff on him every week, but I still don't have much of an impression on him and nor would I think most normal non-edgic viewers. In other words, he seems boring as hell, shouldn't they be throwing in some more interesting stuff about him by now if he's the winner?

And their visibility is low at first and slowly rises as the show progresses. Him being unmemorable and slightly hidden early is really good for his chances, considering his content is (and will always be) extremely obvious.

He was there, but was he hidden enough? I'd consider this a successful cooloff/hiding either way, but one this is for sure; he was P. Was Charlie UTR1 or INV1? Was Randy UTRN2 or MORN2? Was Bob P? Were he and Corinne a 2 visiblity? Was Kenny P? He was definitely MOR?4. Was Matty CPP5 or MORP5 or OTTP5? Was Kelly a 3 or a 4? Those are my debates right now that I'll have to clarify on a 3rd watch. note: Crystal lovers need to lay off, it's not like she's being attacked, some people saw her editted negatively. Sue me.

A LOT of the ratings this season are very blurred, more so than any season I can remember being here for so far. And I did see Crystal as having N moments, but the crying at the RC was clearly P. Therefore she's M to me, simple as that. It's a very heavy M, that's for damn sure, but there was definitely some P in there to offset the N. And even the N was enjoyable N, it wasn't malicious and cruel N like Randy, it was funny and "real" N. Crystal is a very refreshing character, whether you dislike her or love her. She kinda reminds me of a mix between Stephenie and Sherea, two other great characters for the same reasons. How could Randy be UTRN? His comments certainly weren't making him UTR! They were throwing him into the negative spotlight and truly showing us what a miserable troll he really is. Dan, on the other hand, was a classic UTRN. Just a lot of negative SPV, a handful of inconsequential sentences about shit that doesn't really matter for Kota this episode at all, and no confessionals or personal insight. Dan was a perfect UTRN2, Randy was a less common OTTN2. Am I really the only one that thought Kelly was CP(M)?

But he was clearly neglected outside of the reward portion, which I think balances to a MORN2. I don't think he was crafted enough as a distraction, because what he said was true; he's no longer on Fang, which he clearly hated, and is happy to see them lose. He also gave some strategy regarding distancing himself from Dan, so UTR and OTT and CP tends to be MOR. I'm going with MORN2!

Please ignore this if I'm way off. But I'll take a stab at Charlie's rating. I think Charlie is probably UTR1. During the scene just after the RC, when they were coming back to camp, someone said "Charlie had a good idea" when they were discussing what to do about the reward. That was something that I think could very easily have been skipped by the editors, but was not. Then in Marcus' (I think it was his) confessional, he said something about the original Kotas, and mentioned Charlie by name as part of the effort to keep Dan from eating all the food. Although that probably falls into the "Inconsequential" second person visibility category, it is SPV nonetheless. Finally, there were several head-on shots of Charlie (like at the beginning of the IC) when he was not specifically mentioned. I know that Jeff had to talk to him to get the idol back, but I'm pretty sure they focused on him at another point too.

He got neglected for a good majority of the first half, only said something NARRATING the rice situation, and before TC there was nothing about his decisions and such, just strategy. I think the crying scene was meant to be a positive; that she was compassionate about winning and the game and that's supposed to be a good thing. Her attitude of being "negative" and "down" at certain times was meant to be negative, but overall I think the viewer was meant to root for her. Or maybe I'm wrong.

Nope, you're not wrong, you're right on it seems. Also that she was opposite big N Randy added to her Positiveness. And I think that conflict with other N people isn't as N as conflict with P people. Blake, When I came to the site after the show, every other post is by you, gloating about how Crystal was OTTN. Even you agree now that was an incorrect rating, and the glee with which you kept posting on it certainly suggested you were rating that way purely on dislike of her and to rub it in the faces of those who have disagreed on her edit in the past. When you take that tact, expect to get called out on it. As for whether you would have been thrown out if this was your normal habit, nobody gets thrown out unless they are clearly just here to be abusive or constantly leak spoilers. Competence hasn't been a prerequisite for posting. You continue to make assumptions about my feelings toward FLF that have no basis in reality. I called him out for uncalled-for condescending language in a post that seemingly was directed toward me (though he later indicated it was not). Perhaps I was condescending to you, but given the posts you were putting up, it wasn't uncalled-for. Perhaps you should just not post when you are drunk?

People are pointing to Jeff's agreement with her opening TC line as an indication otherwise, but there is no significance given to the fact that it is Kelly who says it. In fact, who do we see nodding their head in agreement while she says it? Crystal. The teamwork v. individuals issue is a slam at Ace, who was the one who cost the tribe the IC by trying to do it all himself. Other than that, what did we see of Kelly? A decent start in both challenges that quickly turned into liability performances, people agreeing she was the obvious weak link that needed to go, and general cattiness about Crystal following the *#!$% at RC including a moment of fake welcome when Crystal surprises her in the middle of her talk. Sorry, calling someone unstable is pretty negative - it is worse than calling them weak. And we were shown enough about Crystal's point of view to make both the post-RC bad-mouthing and the TC comments unsupported by the edit. (Not Edgic, but did Kelly have any plan for this TC? Voting for Crystal was dumb unless she either knew she was going or she thought others were voting that way. Did she trust Ace too?) For those arguing pure N for Crystal, the most negative portion of her edit was at TC when she unloaded on Kelly. Yet what does Jeff praise at the end of TC? Passion. That's there for a reason. By the way, I think Crystal is getting far too visible to win or even maintain Edgic viability. She is a distraction, but once again, being a distraction does not mean you have to be OTT.
