What did Liz say that got Whoopi pissed and caused Barbara to speak to her that way?

They were arguing about a quote of Palin's... I missed the exact quote.... something about small towns Barbara asked Liz why they can't disagree without being disagreeable

Yeah, Palin said that small towns were pro-American and the true patriots. Joy got very upset about that.
Whoopi gave an invitation to Obama to appear and was in the middle of saying Palin was welcome too when Liz interrupted saying not to give Obama a free pass. I think that's when Whoopi got so pissed. I've been on the stupid phone during most of the show and missed a lot of it. |

I missed some of it too.... I watch it early at 8 and kids and hubby were getting out the door and when Liz was so calm ( I think she took many valium) I had
given up any hope of fireworks....

I was expecting a lot more. Compared to other days, they seemed more civil. You can tell Whoopi wants to take Lis out and beat her ass though.

Ok.. I caught it this time... after Palin's quote was discussed... Liz tried to throw out a quote by Obama.... Whoopi pointed out that they objected to
that at the time... Liz didn't want to hear it.. and Whoopi got a little pissed

Liz said something nice about Powell and Jay said "but?" and Liz said "No but I will leave it at that" then she held up some kind of list Powell gave her and read #5 "Be careful what you wish for, you may get it" I thought that was kind of snarky bitchy for her to do |

they played a clip of Annie Oakley's where she stated that the true American patriots are from small towns. Joy reminded us that NY is and was the
terrorists target..
and BTW, the first soldier killed in Iraq was a young man, illegal who lived in that small town of LA, though illegal, he joined the Army. Joy stated where it was fine that Palin appeared on SNL, SHE needs to appear of Meet the Press and the View, Joy: if she hates Washington DC so much, why is she in such a hurry to go there Joy: when it was suggested that they were too hard on McHasbeen when he was on the View.she replied if he can't handle me how will he face down Vladamir Putin.. as someone else stated Lis said Obama should not get a pass to appear with them and then demand that Palin appears. and that was an hysterical bit with Sherry answering the phone....lady asking for tickets: sherry replies, ok, that will be $200 , just give me your credit card number.....hang up. |

Yeah, it's great that Miss Half-Baked Alaska has a sense of humor, etc., but it's rather pathetic that the McCain camp continues to hide her from the real news shows. Wouldn't want those big 'ol meanie reporters to harass her with really tough questions such as, which newspapers do you read. |

I'm not picking sides (and I live in Canada) so don't beat me --- but has Biden appeared on any of those shows?

I think they said Biden has been interviewed about 94 times since he was picked as VP to her like 11. And yes he has been on those shows

I almost thought Joy was going to leave the set because she found it so difficult to talk to Liz (seriously, how can anyone have a sane conversation with Liz?)
I just loved Whoopi's joke about the womb because that has to be the most sensible thing to be said about some one's past. Seriously, Liz needs to get over the talking points already, because it's a drain on me to hear Ayers over and over and over again. |

Julie, thanks for the recap. I look forward to watching this mess when I get home tonight.

Yes, Biden has been on those shows. It was more critical for Palin to appear on them, however, as she was the big unknown.

Is Liz on the Republican payroll?
Survivor's "america's sweetheart" has become "America's retard" It is interesting that Palin is being sheltered from the media. In Canada our right wing leader shielded a majority of his party's candidates from the media. No impromptu question periods, no shows at debates. What are the conservatives so afraid of? Just because they can't control the media anymore (save for Faux-news), are they now not going to be open to questions or criticisms? I do not think that Obama is a certainty, look at Gore's lead 8 years ago at this time, it was similar to Obama. And everyone in the world is now painfully aware of the consequences of that election outcome. As a Canadian and like most of us, I think that the US election is more impactful to our futures than our lame minority government here. |
