Really didn't need a rerun of Buffy Season 6.

The Joan scenes and the heavy-handedness of it all is exactly what I was afraid of when I saw Marti Noxon's name pop up as a writer.
Really didn't need a rerun of Buffy Season 6. |

trinity...you called it...on the woman, and on the baptism.
He was washing away his sins to be "reborn". But I need him back in the office in 3 button skinny suits. Pronto. |

how long has it been since don and betty did the nasty? (not counting that hump at the folk's house. that would be too soon.)I must be confused--I thought that Don was only dreaming that Bets came down off the bed to meet him on the floor. |

EmmaPeel wrote:I agree. We need Don back at Sterling Cooper where he's the most interesting. I do like how this season is focusing so much on the Mad Men women. And how cold is Betty, telling Sarah Beth, "there's a difference between wanting and having." She facilitated the whole thing! |

I've also noticed that Pete is the only SC guy to not be jealous of Peggy's success. He seemed sincere when he congratulated her on the office... as
opposed to the reaction of Paul and Harry, who were annoyed. She joked about sleeping with Don to get her new office and Pete smiled, which says a lot about
their understanding of each other. Also, Pete was the only one who noticed her new haircut!

(she was joking, right?) i could have kissed her at that moment. and you know, after being eviscerated by the fil with the loss of clearasil, "little pete" must have just shrunk to nothing with peggy's delivery of that line... HA! |

It was really uncomfortable watching the Joanie scene, gosh I felt horrible for her. It also showed truly how insecure her fiance was, he didn't like that
she was getting on top of him and didn't like that Roger knew "so much" about her. If she ends up marrying her, I wouldn't be surprised if
her started beating her in the future. Then seeing her trying to maintain some sense of pride and dignity while Peggy got her own office was kinda sad. Poor
Joanie.
lol @ Harry's reaction when he saw Peggy's new office. OMG @ Father Gill returning, more strange sexual tension coming in the finale! ETA: I was reading at another forum about the Joan scene and how while her fiance was assaulting her she kept looking at the couch. I wasn't sure why, but it makes sense that its possibly related to the time she was crying when Marilyn Monroe die. Don't die Joanie!

The office just shows that Peggy has more balls than any guy there and that she has nothing to lose. She wants to get noticed. When at work, she works. Unlike
the guys there are no shenanigans with her, she's all business at the office. Look at the guys. It seems like they barely put in 5 hours worth of real work
during the week. She has the brass ones to ask for what she wants because her work merits it. The fellas wanted to be given their rewards because if they ask
for it, they might be asked what they have actually done to deserve it.

How interesting that Peggy seems to be the only happy female main character, despite having the baby and either giving it up or letting her sister raise it (are we still in the dark or did I miss something?). At the same time, I'm not sure I like the message. Another thing that struck me was the contrast painted between Don then and now. Then, Dick/Don was happy, smiling, joyful even. Now, Don is stoic, never seeming to be fully there. You can talk about the change in Betty, but there's also that change in Don. They were toxic for each other? I prefer the ad agency storylines so I hope the baptism wasn't washing that part of his life completely away. |

I loved seeing Peggy sip that scotch in her new office. She looks 10,000 times more confident with that new haircut, too.
Oh, and I also fear that Joan may be in for a beating. |

I don't like Joan being such a wimp in that relationship, but I guess she's 30 and knows her options are dwindling. Peggy's reaction was
probably representative of what everyone else Joan knows says, "wow, he's handsome and a doctor." I imagine that it's hard for Joan to give
that up.

I predict a break-up for Joanie and the doctor. His "rape" was to punish her for being a whore at work, which had become confirmed with the little
meet and greet with Roger. This is just the first in a long downslide for her. I just hope to God she's not pregnant, but I'm sure a whore like her
would be on the pill. The doctor really is a total prick.
