Weird how memory plays tricks on you. Mal was a terrific character, but Caleb remains one of my favorite big bad henchmen. I dunno why I thought I'd seen
Fillion before.
(BTW, you all are aware of his role in Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, aren't you?) I just finished watching Serenity the movie -- yikes. I thought it to be excellent, but only if you disembody it from Firefly. Way too much conflict going on that hadn't been there before. The doctor punching Mal? No way that would've happened in the series. On its own, a very, very good film. Not all TV to film transfers can be as good as the Star Trek franchise, but this was a contender. On the TV series, I think it had the preferable tone. The final ep, Objects in Space, was perfect Whedon, and a masterpiece of the genre. It struck me that Joss was laying ground for a sequel in the closing moments. Any word on that? And Jit how the hell did you come to own Wash's dinosaurs? |

I just watched this.
It made me cry that it was so good and lasted for such a short period. I wish I would've watched it when it was first on. |

I watched the whole thing one weekend and then wrote Joss a letter telling him if he ever got a movie made I'd be there on opening night with my Blue Sun t-shirt. Promise kept. |

It's pretty good compared to the rest of the genre, but I've never been swept away by it. I've only seen like the first five episodes though, so
perhaps it picks up after that point.

Side Note:
Nathan Fillion seems to have been picked up for a series called Castle. It looks to be a mid-season replacement so look for it in Jan (when Joss' new show is out). |

I found that I loved every single character except that awful waste of space by the name of Shepherd Book. When he died I cheered loudly.

Aww I liked Shepherd Book. He was the moral compass and had that cool mysterious background. I was sad we never found out about it.

The Shepherd's Tale, according to Wiki, was supposed to come out late 2008. I haven't seen it solicited yet so I'll guess early next year.
