Another funny episode and with the best ending with Michael finally asking Holly out. It was so sweet. Now I'm torn as to Jan's reason for forbidding
Michael to date Holly. Is it because Jan is just being petty & not wanting Michael nor wanting him to be happy ever? OR is it
because Jan realized that Holly was perfect for Michael, after Holly's lame jokes to Jan, which made Jan realize that Holly is Michael's perfect woman,
and Jan actually wants Michael to move on with his life and get out of her life, so Jan used reverse psychology on Michael knowing that if she forbade Michael
from dating Holly, the first thing Michael would do would be to ask her out?
I'm so happy that Michael & Holly are getting together so quickly, but I am preparing myself for it being VERY short-lived
. I'm sure something is going to happen that will result in Holly
leaving (likely corporate will transfer her for having an inappropriate office relationship with Michael). Michael will be devastated, of course. (As will I,
because I love the addition of Holly even though I miss Toby). Then Toby will probably come back from his disastrous trip to Costa Rica and get his old job
back in Scranton and Michael's level of hate for Toby will be even higher. That will be the only thing that could redeem Holly's departure, if Toby
comes back to face even more wrath of Michael.
I am not bothered at all by Dwight's very odd & moronic behavior, because it is classic Dwight and in his character since the beginning. I do really love Andy, though, and would like more Andy.
Re the Ben Franklin episode that Pizza Harold & Kitty White find so irritating. I always looked at that not as Dwight believing it was the real Ben Franklin, but Dwight's frustration, because he was annoyed that someone was pretending to be the real Ben Franklin and Dwight was trying to make the guy slip up when Dwight was throwing all the questions to him. Dwight wanted the guy to come out of character and be exposed and Dwight's frustration increased when the guy was actually knowledgeable on his Ben Franklin history. Of course there is a tiny part of Dwight that could actually believe this was the real Ben Franklin, because Dwight is a SciFi freak and is open to the possibility of time travel, etc (like falling for the faxes from "future Dwight.") So, it is all totally within Dwight's eccentric character to, first, try to expose someone playing "Ben Franklin" as a fake and when the guy is answering all the questions right, for Dwight to start considering the possibility that the real B.F. traveled to the future or was reborn into the guy or possessing the guy somehow. For me, it was a hilarious episode, because I love Dwight getting frustrated and losing it.
