Please explain to me why a two income family making 250 thou owes you a bigger cut of their paycheck percentagewise than you pay.
Because they can?
My church hands out a giving chart at this time of year as people estimate their giving for next year. It's a straight up percentage chart showing 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%, 2% giving from 10K annual income up to 300K annual income. The family making 30K is hurt by tithing, they're not going to be eating as well. The family making 300K is going to have less money to invest or blow on ski vacations. I'm fine with the 30K family paying nothing and the 300K family covering them. I'm somewhere in between but I've had times in my life when I didn't have as much and I'll tell you this, I'd much rather be in the position of the overtaxed rich person, no doubt about it.
