Slow-Paced But Still Intense Leg Appreciation |
Lead | |
|
Did anyone else notice how much slower everyone seemed to go, because of the high altitude and all that? I felt it was interesting, and a much-needed change of
pace from the frantic, in-your-face style that TAR is known for. I'm not saying make it like this all the time. Just once is good...but I really liked the
change.

Wish they'd get the hell out of South America.
What a dreary, sunless, dirty pit. |

They did not even air a single minute of airport drama.
A TAR first, I guess. That's how intense and jampacked the episode was.<3333333 |

The tasks have been ridiculous, but the cast is great!

Hopefully, they can go to Paraguay in Season 15! SA <3 The leg in Bolivia is one of my favorite this season because of the altitude sickness. It brings a new flavor to the race :). |

A huge letdown for me - definitely the worst third leg in TAR history (largely because third legs tend to be some of the best) - it wasn't helped by all
three of four teams I'm at least somewhat entertained by were shown to be in jeopardy, so there wasn't any hope of a good ending.
The leg in Bolivia is one of my favorite this season because of the altitude sickness. It brings a new flavor to the race :).They had the same thing in Peru, TAR7, srry. |

Fuck you right back, Avant.
To hell with these peanut people. I want to see a location full of leggy blonds. |

Actually, I think this leg contrasted extremely nicely to the last leg at a beach environment ... it definitely was one of the best South American legs
post-Season 5.

It was actually a pretty decent leg. Probably one of the best South American legs recently (except Romber getting PWNED, of course). It probably would have been nicer if someone had used the U-Turn. |

Also, nothing will be worse than the third leg of FE. Elimination caused by picking a number = gay.Good point, that was the only other really bad one but Weavers on the Bus beats the Sports Bra feud. Apart from those two and TAR12's, the third episode of every season is always gold (TAR1 pendulum <3 TAR2 airport drama <3 TAR3 going somewhere I loved <3 TAR4 finally eliminating a shitty team <3 TAR5 chocolate eating <3 TAR6 Ikea <3 TAR7 meatblock <3 TAR9 dolls <3 TAR10 Sarah crawling through a ricefield <3 TAR11 Mirna's bathing suit <3) |

<3 TAR9 dolls If not for Monicas tits, that would have been one of the worst legs ever. |

No airport drama. I am sad.
Airport drama is the most exciting thing in the Amazing Race. I guess they didn't air the drama because of the closeness of the teams arriving. |

A Dying Clown wrote:Tom and Terry surviving their penalty made this leg tragic. TAR1 Pendulum <3 (indeed) TAR2 "You're gonna die!" <3 TAR3 punting <3 TAR4 music detours <3 TAR5...almost eliminated Marshall and Lance. Not a fan. TAR6 Ikea (indeed) <3 TAR7 elimination of Debbie/Bianca (since I am apparently the only person who hates them) <3 TAR9 clusterfuck* <3 TAR11 elimination of David/Mary <3 TAR12 elimination of boring Hispanic bitches <3 * I'm a fan of this leg due to the computer hijinks that occured afterwards, allowing for E/J, Hippies and L/M to get to Germany that night. It basically rewarded people performing tasks quickly (esp. since they were all bunched up). I like that it had actual repurcussions for the racers instead of it being bunched away within the first 10 minutes of the episode (even if the lack of bunching contributed to D/L's elimination). That being said, it appears that they ramped up the bunching at the end of the season. 3 equalizers in Greece (train, flight, Agora) and Darwin (Swan Bells, flight, Crocodile Park). A mid-leg bunch in Fremantle and Tokyo. A fairly long bus ride in Bangkok. |

The more I think about it, the more I realize I LOVE TAR9. With the exception of Dani/Danielle and Eric/Jeremy, all the teams were fun, the locations were ALL
great, and the challenges were pretty nice, too, with the obvious exception of the gnomes.
