She was just no one's strong #2, which is what you needed to be in order to survive (either that, or a clear challenge asset). Wanda didn't do anything wrong, and she didn't make any mistakes. She was a victim of her age, and while she could have survived the tribal assignments with the right strategy, it's unfair to say she was a poor player for not developing that strategy, since it would have been unnecessary in any normal vote-off situation. #278 - Sonja (Borneo)Sonja would have done just fine for herself if not for Sue's bitter little betrayal of the female alliance. Sonja went into TC thinking she was safe, and was backstabbed by someone whose actions could not have been predicted. #277 - BBYes. Awful social game, and no intentions of sticking it out with the younger tribe members. He was ready to quit less than a week in, and asked to leave as soon as he had an opportunity to do so. #272 - Gary Stritseky (Fiji)The man would have done just fine for himself if he hadn't been evacuated from the game. He was on the outs of the Moto alliance, but that alliance was more focused on eliminating "threats" like Liliana anyway. And even if Moto went on a losing streak, Papa Smurf was way more well-liked by his tribe than either Cassandra or Dreamz. #271 - Johnny Fairplay (Micronesia)Fairplay was damn impressive in the short amount of time he spent playing the game in Micronesia. Quitting is a pretty big minus, of course, but he played a hell of a lot better than any of the other quitters, like Osten or Janu. #270 - Jim Lynch (Guatemala)Eh, injury. Things might have been completely different if that hadn't happened. #269 - Kimmi Kappenberg (Australia)Definitely. Had no idea what she was doing, and didn't even manage to offer any use to her only shot at an ally. #268 - Patricia Jackson (Marquesas)Victim of Maraamu's power struggle. Not saying it excuses her, but again, she's not someone who really did anything wrong. She should have been safe, except the alpha males of the tribe caused a hell of a lot of pre-merge strategic controversy. #267 - Tanya Vance (Thailand)More sickness. She was well liked enough that she might have done very well had her body been able to cope better. |

Pulau Tiga wrote: Wanda's relationships didn't help her since she wasn't even picked in the schooyard pick out of 20 people Why could Sue's betrayal not be predicted? Sue was ahead of her time but what she did is pretty common nowadays Gary got evacuated for bug bites...on the haves tribes. Even with the power struggle and immunity run he still went out early because he couldn't survive the elements JFP could be a good player of course but in Micronesia he was a quitter. He demanded to be taken out of the game. So even weaker strategists and fellow quitters like Osten and Janu were better players than Micronesia JFP. Osten could be convinced out of quitting but JFP could not. Janu quit at least well into the game and knowing she was on the outside of an alliance. JFP quit under a very good strategic situation so his heart was totally not into the game making him a bad Survivor player Jim might deserve a higher ranking since Guatemala was one of the tougher locations especially with the starting hike. I think 90% of the time he still ends up as early game roadkill due to age and weak physical ability though Patricia was bossy and asserted herself when she had a weak spot in the tribe. She was lucky to be kept over Peter as it is (which probably helped prolong their losing streak) Tanya being sick makes her 1 of the weaker Survivors because to do well you have to be healthy. It's unfair but unfortunately that's how it goes |

The problem with this list is that you automatically rank people low for placing low in their season, rather than looking at how well they could've done.
Also, older, weaker players aren't poor strategists because they're weak. It's the young, strong players that are booted early that really suck at
the game, because they're the ones that their tribe should want to keep around for challenges, and they boot them anyway. Examples: Debb, Kel, Carl,
Peter, Hunter, John R., Jed, Ryan A., Daniel, JoAnna, Burton, Brook, Dolly, John P., Mia, Jonathan L., Jolanda, Jeff W., Tina S., Misty, Sekou, JP, Erica,
Liliana, Chicken, Ashley, Dave C., Mikey, Michelle C., Jacquie.

Kitty Pryde1 wrote: No I don't. Some people have already outplaced people who ended up in a higher place than them. I'm not basing this ranking on strategy entirely because Survivor is a very physical game as well. So some of the "weak" players aren't ranked low for bad strategy but not being fit to survive. Don't worry those "young, strong players that [were] booted early that really suck at the game" are all coming up |
