He was right - without the hair and makeup would anyone have known what they were supposed to be? Look at Suede's outfit before the challenge - he was wearing some dopey parachute pants with zippers and shit. His 'punk' outfit wasnt all that diff than what he wears normally (just like Jor-El). His peacock Misfits devilock was all that 'gave' it away.

Jor-El's outfit was dull -- and I'm sure the editor's threw in the scene of him getting ready with his own clothes to compare how dull Suede's outfit was -- because it was essentially the same thing he'd already wear.

Although I like her, Leanne came off a bit bitchy -- and her doing the stereotypical hip hop moves wasn't cute, it was sad. As for the outfit -- eh. Mary J. Blige circa several years ago. It came closer to the mark than I expected, though tight high waisted jeans was just a dumb idea. And again, production clearly hates her guts, so I can only assume that we're seeing a fraction of how she really acted during the shoot. Was Suede's outfit really all that? It fit the bill, certainly, but from a design aesthetic, was it really that great? I didn't see it.

Loved to see the Tim Gunn smackdown -- he's always so affable, to see him seriously pissed was off-putting -- he gets icy cold when he gets mad; but what the hell is Kenley's problem? I assume she's melting down over the tight production schedule, which I've read is brutal, but what did she expect? That in being on the show and doing the same "retro" looks every challenge that the judges would just roll over and let her win? She's being a child (but then again, so are the others towards her, but they seem just as tired of her shit as production is).

Weird season. The boots have been great, but there's something really off about this cycle. It's like no one is even trying this time around.

Yes, on every TV show when a token white kid does 'hip hop', they invariably do the head cocked the side and arms crossed thing. And their 'rapping' sounds like a Pilsbury doughboy commercial. It all seems so Saved By the Bell circa 1989.

Perhaps Kenley is being edited into a cuntess perhaps not. Either way, she is correct about one thing - what does Tim Gunn really know about Hip Hop? I cant recall a piece of advice and or direction he gave her. If he specifically said 'add a big clock' or 'add a belt buckle that's the shape of a glock and is made of titanium and contains 40,000 carats of Jacob the Jeweler bling', then maybe, but I don't recall a specific angle he was giving. Not to mention, 'hip hop' for a female is hard. For a guy it would be easy. Make a pair of baggy ass jeans, give 'em some Nike ID Jordans, some Jacob bling and an obligatory oversized basketball jersey or some Kanye polo/lacoste shit. Seriously, when one thinks of 'hip hop' as it relates to a woman's outfit, does anything even come to mind?
