That long rant about the fans and how he lied to them is especially ridiculous. They keep saying he's coming out because he doesn't want to lie to his sons and then adding but what about the fans? What about the fans? The fans are NOT more important than his child. Anyone who thinks fans are just as important as family is a tard. Yes the fans buy the music and merchandise but the family are the ones who are there when they don't, family > fans. Yeah he probably lied for years but he obviously had his reasons for it and they defending him in the past for throwing out "no comment" on questions of his sexuality so what the fuck do they want. Before it was his personal choice not to talk about it, now that he's chosen to come out and talk about it they're throwing hissy fits and saying how devastating it is. Oh and on behalf of all these tards who won't support him financially because of this I am going to buy one of Clay's CD, stupid fucks. No wonder it took him this long to come out. What kind of dysfunctional family did he come from that it took him until he was almost forty and so totally obviously GAE that when he tells his mom she was surprised? I can see a normal family where the mom says, well, honey, we always knew and it's okay..........or a really functional family would have encouraged him to come out years ago........but his mom was shocked? Just no wonder, no wonder. Now I just feel bad for him. Sort of.

SHC, I've finally found something to agree with you about. I don't get some fans over-reaction to the news. As for a CD to buy - the last one is a nice mix of sound and well-crafted.

As soon as the news reached my ears, the blood drained from my face and a literal rush of shock surged through my body. My face fell. For a few milliseconds I felt...nothing. Not long after that, I shut myself up in my room and wept silently, my heart breaking. This has all happened during a rough time in my life so that makes it all the more painful for me. I just...I don't know what to do. I'll probably never hear the end of it from my dad. Part of me still thinks this is all a dream, yet the whole of me knows it isn't. I will be withdrawing any financial support of him, as my beliefs do not condone his lifestyle. However, I will continue to pray for him and await further details on the situation. Seriously, this post makes it sound like Clay revealed he eats puppies and mutilates them or something out of this world. Bizzare the reactions of some people just for the fact someone sucks cock instead of eating pussy. Clay has lied to me for five and a half years, telling me he is not gay, letting me think that lies were told about him in tabloids, etc.on and on. I loved Clay very much; but as hurt as I am right now, I do not like people who betray me, so I am gone, which will make some people happy, but I can no longer support a man I no longer admire. IF homosexuality is not a choice, to have gay sex still IS a choice. So I would say that a person can be gay, that is, be attracted to other men, and still choose not to have sex. If Clay does say in his interviews that he is gay, I hope and pray he chooses that route -- abstinence. But its his decision, of course. I am a long time strong supporter of Clay...I started supporting him because I saw him giving God the glory for where he was on American Idol. Why would anyone be depressed over the fact that, though I still love Clay, I must stand by my convictions first and foremost, unless proven wrong. I love Clay and would die a thousand deaths for him I suppose, but he does not come before my convictions. No one does. I can't help but think that he will be much happier living his own life without fear after this blows over, free of the overbearing, demanding fans that he has collected over the years and his music or work can be judged by its quality alone. I just can't understand why these fans think that Clay Aiken owes them anything. He is a performer, just doing his job like anyone else does their own job. Do they think their grocery clerks or hairdressers need to inform them that they are gay as well? Granted that his fandom has been in overdrive to help him succeed, but they have had far less influence than they think and Clay has made some very smart business decisions all on his own. It just makes me very, very sad that we are still at this stage in this country where homosexuality is so vehemently reviled.
