Threw me for quite a loop cause her name was in the opening credits so I figured she was safe. Random. Random trivia for you: that chick has the lead female role in the Wolverine movie coming out next summer.

I don't care for Tara and Sam sleeping together unless they are going to play that out further. They both deserve someone solid. I loved that he barked in his sleep. Loved it. Genius. Sookie needs to stop the public masturbation. That is a bit much. I just mean the scene where she's sitting on Bill's front steps. The scene in front of the cat was funny. Also, what is up with Lafayette being a drug dealer? That didn't happen in the books. He's a bit pervy, but not scum. And Jason taking Vamp blood? Horsecrap. I'm just hoping that they are leading to something from the books that they just couldn't fit in any other way. We meet Eric next eppy! YAAAYYYY!!! Spoiler [+] I can't wait to meet Pam, either

I don't mind the fact that LaFayette deals, since LaFayette really wasn't really described in the books too much that I know of. That left him wide open to develop more. I like that LaFayette is in touch with the underbelly of the backwoods down there. Also, Spoiler [+] if they follow the plot in the book and LaFayette is murdered (bummer), adding all these extra layers to LaFayette will actually aid more in the plot & mystery surrounding his death that Sookie will have to investigate. Tara is growing on me more and more, mostly because she is toning it down a bit since ep 1. Her scenes this week were great to give us more insight to what makes her tick. Also, Spoiler [+] if they follow the book and granny is the next to be murdered (another bummer), leaving Sookie all alone in that house, I'd like to see Tara move in with Sookie and get the heck away from her drunk abusive mama. If granny is killed, then Tara must move in and be Sookie's housemate. I'm on the fence about Tara & Sam becoming "friends with benefits," but I'll wait to see how it plays out. It really didn't seem in character for either of them -- Tara as Sookie's BFF and knowing Sam has it bad for Sookie; and Sam having it bad for Sookie and being both Tara & Sookie's boss. But I must remember that in TV land, people swap sexual partners without batting an eye and continue to remain BFFs. Personally, since that cute little dog was revealed NOT to be Sam, I would have liked the dog to be a female shapeshifter that Sam was sniffing on the side. Then there could be lots of barking going on.

I wondered if part of the reason for not saying the name Elvis is probably due to royalties or something, having to pay big bucks to use the name in publication. 2. I thought he was a one-time thing and could easily leave it out of the HBO series. However, in reading book 3 last night, Bubba pops up again and plays a role in the happenings. So now I don't know what to think. It would bring some comedy and silliness to the show, which works in the books, but I think I'd rather the show stay a little more dark and less goofy and silly. I like the tone that is set so far on the series and I think "Bubba" would sort of ruin it. So, IMO, yes to a vampire bodyguard for hire, but no to "Bubba."
