I'm gonna go with Dan as the first boot. I dunno I think maybe Probst could tell Dan was going to go based on his actions in the first few days.

I don't think Fang could afford to lose a strong male so early in the game, especially with them being so outmatched by Kota. Unless an alliance of the
older people and weaklings took over, but not likely. I'm going with Gillian or Susie as first boot.

My basis on the thought that Michelle is out first is simply ... she's not really talked about too highly by Probst, she's not the most physical and
would be an easy target for a first boot. Michelle ... weak. Dan ... annoying. Gillian ... older. I'd say anyone of those three are gone first for sure.
Maybe Susie, as she seems like a combo of all three. I'm pretty sure we'll probably see all four of them gone pre-merge though. Unless we get a freak
injury or someone gets super sick.
I have a bad feeling it will be another Fiji, all the women get booted quite early. None of them seem very likely to go too far or even win, which sucks. |

If we were going to base spoilers solely on the 3-minute opening segment like last season, it would tell us the following:
- Either Crystal, Bob, Danny "G.C.", Ace, Matty and Marcus are the winners and Dan, Corrine, Kelly, Susie, Ken, Gillian, Randy, Michelle, Jacquie, Paloma, Charlie and Sugar do not win. Last season, Cirie and Parvati were featured in the opening segment and Amanda was not. Going into the final episode, we knew that either Cirie or Parvati would be the winner. I expect this season to be similar. Also worth noting- Crystal mentions winning in the opening much like Parvati did at the beginning of last season. It is probably nothing though. |

Survivorfever has new pics from a video, and they are playing up a love interest between KEN AND MICHELLE?!! oh really... did not see that coming at all.
So maybe Michelle isn't so all alone after all.
Makes me start to lean towards a Susie first boot. I really really hope not, I have to see more of her than one episode. Don't ya just love that we are 2 days away from the start of this season and there are no spoilers of who will be the first boot, let alone any other positions. (ya we figured the tribe going to TC but that's it) Back to screening the vids and commercials and more speculation and clues.. fun. Edited to add: Also from the gracious SF.net, a link to a times colonist article interviewing JP. These are a few of the points I thought were interesting in the article: Jeff Probst survives a brutal locale, Show host likens jungle experience to Conrad's Heart of DarknessAlex Strachan, Canwest News ServicePublished: Tuesday, September 23, 2008.....Probst had been through 16 Survivors before venturing to the equatorial jungles of Gabon, but nothing prepared him for the level of animosity and outright hostility he witnessed in Survivor: Earth's Last Eden. Everything in Africa happens on an almost biblical scale.Probst says he will leave it to others to decide where Survivor Gabon fits in the pantheon of Survivor epics, but he won't soon forget it..... ..."I'm just saying," Probst says, with a playful laugh. "There have been times when I've jokingly said who wins the game, and I've been telling the truth. And nobody listens." For example: Parvati Shallow will win Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites. Hard to believe, no?

A love interest could be an immediate threat to everyone who notices. Susie seems awfully tight with Crystal. They play up the showmance, and it's over
as soon as it begins.
It might come down to targets on 3 or 4 people, and she gets the axe by a few votes. Or maybe not. I'm sure Randy and the other girls will notice that. |

So it gets really ugly. I wonder if a Red member sneaks through to the end as the yellows eat each other?

Ya Midnight Prince, it could go either way. I guess since they are highlighting this apparent 'love' interest, might mean it is not allowed to
flourish. It could also just be Ken pulling a Billy Garcia with Michelle, he may just be admitting his love for her and there may not be anything in return.
The interview published today, gives me an understanding as to why JP hasn't been touting this as the 'greatest season'. It sounds like it will not have many heroes, and will get nasty. I actually welcome a down and dirty hostile game play as a change from the last 2 seasons where we definitely had some nice people to get behind. I think Evil will prevail this time, a'la Richard. |

My gut feeling is that the promo monkeys made up that Ken-Michelle thing.
Has Probst read Heart of Darkness? Even in a really nasty season, Survivor is just a game. It's not genocide. |

Yay, a nasty season! The more Jeff hates it, the more entertaining the season is. Definitely sounds like a yellow tribe person wins though, as I'm sure
Jeff is rooting for the red tribe. Naturally.
I really don't get where all this "Michelle as first boot" stuff is coming from. First boot, weak looking tribe, why wouldn't it be Gillian? Makes way more sense to me. |

He doesn't like "mean seasons" where people are brutally backstabbed, such as Guat and Fiji. He prefers when his knights in shining armor prevail and make it to the end without any blood on their hands and the bootees don't take it too personally. Which makes for boring TV. I just hope that this season's cast is likeable enough to make the show bearable to watch (unlike Fiji and Guat to an extent), but still provide the drama.

Ken and Michelle are going to alienate themselves with being the youngest people on their tribe. If they're talking about the showmance before the show
even starts, I bet the arc doesn't last more than an episode or two. Maybe Michelle is the first one gone...
