This last episode was amazingly grueling (we haven't seen a leg intentionally planned to last this long on the Amazing Race in the US -- discounting mistakes such as Season 11 flights to Tanzania , the screwup of the Polish legs , and the long boat ride to Italy in S12 -- since Sri Lanka in Season 6 and Manila/Auckland in Season 5 ) and the personalities that came out of it were amazing ... Ida and Tania -- I remember how everyone here was like eeeeeeeew .... no. These two are hysterical and if every Mactor was like them, I would not have a problem with them. Honestly, they are right up there with Charla and Mirna with comedy gold. My favorite moment was when they were running to the pitstop and Ida was gimping to one side and saying "I think I run faster like this". Also, almost everything Ida does is either exaggerated (not for the cameras) almost out of excitement. Geoff and Tish -- Man, I hate him, but I would rather have a real villain like him rather than a villain like Ann and Diane .... where it doesn't even make sense why they are a villain. Intolerable, but a good character at least. Sam and Vince -- Expecting them to be intolerable, but they are not that bad .... nowhere near close to hogging the camera like a former team ... Bernie and Henry -- I think the dynamic between them is amazing and their down-to-earth nature really shows on the screen. I never would have known she was a tv personality unless if I looked it up. Also, during their application tape when they tried to get their parents on it and they completely ignored the camcorder was amazing. Niro and Kapil -- About time to have a parent-child team; it may seem like they are boring to us, but I think that is something somewhat ethnocentric for us to say; it is almost a typical parent-child relationship in Asia. It won't get to the levels that a team like Ron/Christina ever would .... Also, the father sounds like Borat when he says "Thank you very much" A.D. and Fuzzie -- Do I have to say anything? The two teams that were eliminated were more or less boring, so thankfully they are gone, although I liked William and Isaac. Despite living in Thailand before attending unnie and feeling more at home in Bangkok than anywhere in the United States, I am ashamed to say that Natalia and Mai and Oliver (not Pailin) represent me. They are barely tolerable. Sure, there are some issues ... product placements being the big one and the shirking of sights in Chiang Mai (such as Tad Phae, Wat Phra Doi Suthep, and almost any of the more than 200 beautiful wats within the old city) ... but I stopped watching TARA 2 after the Tokyo/Fukuoka leg. I hope that this doesn't happen this time around, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed these first two legs with the wonderful locations, design of the leg, and interesting teams rather than the snooze-fest that was dominated by Marc and Rovilson over very poorly planned legs last season.

I now have a great respect for Pailin though. Still, I'm glad they come across as whiny little bitches and hence provide great TV for people all over Asia (and beyond). But I don't think they would get the same level of warm welcome from Thai fans that Paula/Nat got after their race.

Yeah I know there were a lot of locations and it was just grueling for the teams but still I was hype throughout the entire episode. Boy the taxi fairy sure does favor A.D. and Fuzzie! Despite the mixup on the way to the roadblock they really had good taxi drivers that got them where they needed to go quick! @ the Fuzzie ownage that was taking place. @ the way she was just grabbing the chickens and tossing them into the cages. Fuzzie does not give a fuck about uncooked chickens and I LOVE IT! <3333 I wanted to dance when they got second place! Ida and Tania still crack me up with their boundless amount of energy and happy-go-lucky demeanor. Snagging that flight to Vietnam was an awesome moment for them. I just wish they would've been able to maintain their lead a bit more once they got to the flower shop task. LOL @ Tania telling that douche Geoff to get back over there with their fucking chickens. Ok, so maybe she didn't say it like that but still, I love her and Ida as much as A.D. and Fuzzie! Wow. That entire scene with Mai crying as the chickens flailed about wildly was weird. And fucking hilarious. She didn't grate this leg, but I still don't like her yet. Henry and Bernie snag first place. Saw it coming since leg one. They're both likeable, and Henry's breakdown upon seeing the church made me feel a bit sorry for him. Natalie was being such a retarded drama queen. Loved that Pailin was like "Whatever bitch" and went to sleep while she sat there and freaked out over sleeping in an airport. Bye bye boring Korean brothers. The Indian couple/cousins/whatever looked boring. And whoever casted the male/male teams needs to be shot. The brothers/friends all looked the same and I could never tell them apart, so I'm happy half of them are gone. I like....Paulina/Natalie? The beauty queens...whatever their names are...I love my whiney bitches. I like Ida/Tania as well. The guy with the whistle and his girlfriend I like as well. And isn't it crazy that there was only ONE couple on this race? Out of the 4 co-gendered teams, we had cousins, siblings, friends, and a couple. Bernie and her brother are ok, nothing great. Dislike... The friends..they just don't do anything for me yet. Fuzzie and Ad- Fuzzie has got to be the ugliest creature I have ever seen. My favs are A.D. & Fuzzie, Henry & Bernie (although his breakdown was a little uncomfortable to watch), and the Dad (not so much his son).

Get this douchebag out of here, posthaste! Love Tisha, though! Niroo & Kapil - I find Niroo to be a stupid whiner and Kapil to be a stealth bully. The sooner they're out, the better. This is perhaps the highest form of media-whoring that one can do. I never thought I would ever speak in their defense, but at least Marc and Rovilson were respectable people. Media whores, surely. But not jackasses like Geoff.

It was like a damn marathon. Natalie's OTT drama about sleeping in the airport was hilarious especially contrasted with Pailin's attitude. Still love the BQs. Ida and Tania are charmingly funny through thick and thin and I love them too. Henry and Bernie are a great kickass brother sister team. Love the fact Bernie is clearly less sentimental than Henry. That crying breakdown came out from nowhere. Mai's shaping up to be the goto girl for freakouts and bitchfests. Should be fun to see how Oliver has to deal with it all the way. Anyone know how Geoff got his black spider villain nickname from?

(most glaring was Mai/Oliver going from head of the pack to dead last to middle and last again) Mai crying over the chickens was hysterical. Too bad it wasn't a roadblock. And speaking of which, I'm glad that the TARA producers employed an original roadblock and didn't just copy something from the US version. And high-maintenance Natalie complaining about sleeping in the airport was totally absurd to the point of hilarity I don't mind Geoff. I love Tisha. But did anyone notice Geoff say that he's giving away $400 (instead of $500) in the envelope) during the charity task? I could be wrong though. Ida/Tania and AD/Fuzzie doing so well was a "WTF" moment. Both teams were in first place at one point. I'm glad the boring Koreans got eliminated. I liked them but they have zero entertainment value.

Bertram is a partner in our Asian business and he loves being involved. We're good friends and we talk all of the time. Elise too is a close friend, since we first went scouting the Australian outback for the second series. They are always there when I need advice or want to talk through an idea. They are just so passionate about the Race and have been great supporters for us. Unfortunately, as it has turned out, the Asian and US Races have been run at the same time so they haven't had a chance to come on an Asian Race. Our two production teams ran into each other at an airport last season which was funny. FB: I did hear of this. Did the two teams exchange stories, and was there any consideration of possibly having a crossover between the two shows? MM: A cross over started out as a joke when we were getting bored waiting for teams somewhere. Elise Doganieri and I would discuss the possibility of their being another franchise somewhere and the teams from that Race going to our Clue box and ending up on our Race by mistake. We thought that was really funny until a few years later, I'm off doing the other franchise and it occurs to us that it is a real possibility. Then it wasn't as funny anymore.
