This show is based on Anne Rice books? I honestly didn't know that.

Since I love the show and am intrigued by the spoilers, I've ordered all eight books. I dismissed the books initially because I didn't think that
rednecks + vampires would be a good mix. I was wrong.

I haven't watched the second episode yet, but I did re-watch the first...I see now why you were all complaining about Tara. The first time I watched ep.1
it was the pre-air version and they had a different actress playing the role. I liked her a lot better than this one for sure.

Ok. I watched the second episode. The only part I didn't like was the scene at the Ratray's trailer. Sookie was just a bit too much right there, but I
understand that they are trying to show how the vamp blood upped her senses and speed, etc...
Yes, these books were written way before the Twilight series. It will be hard not to compare if you've read those, but try to see them as completely separate series. You will be glad you did. |

Oh, I know that these books were written before the "Twilight" books, and I know that they are much different series. Judging from this show, I'd
think that the "Sookie Stackhouse" books are funny and awesome. The "Twilight" books are...um, not.

I haven't read the Twilight books yet, i'm planning to.
Aren't they geared more towards the teen/young adult crowd? Sookie's books are definitely adult. |

Yay for a second season! :) If this first season is all about the first book in the series, then will Season 2 be from the second book?
McW, I'd suggest reading "Twilight" just for the hell of it. Don't believe all the hype around it, and yes, it's kind of a young adult book. If you get too invested in the books, like me, be prepared to be angry. Very, VERY angry.
