Can the writers please add in a backbone for Serena? Over all I like her character, but I'm soooo sick of her walking around and pouting about Dan when hes such an asshole to her. DUMP HIS ASS. He basically just calls her a slut and shes like "omg I know sry! *cries*"

Really good first episode though, I definitely liked it. The female cast + Chuck is so great. I do wish they'd either give Nate a personality or add some more interesting guys though. And Dan is so irritating to me. His evolution to "playboy" was pretty laughable. Hes like all the bad parts of Seth Cohen and none of the good ones.

Blair Waldorf is seriously one of my favorite characters on television

X. Blair is amazing. Best TV bitch ever. Shes such a dynamic character, and Leighton is a great actress/fit for the part. You can just tell shes totally into it. All of her lines this episode were worthy, but the two omglol moments for me were when she said the botox line, which I literally loled at, and then when she was talking to Chuck at the end about the cougar and said something like "I think she recognized some of herself in me. And I recognized someone IN her" omg. The parents groups are going to have a conniption over this episode. <3

Also, major props to Katherine, shes a great character too. Gossip Girl is best when theres some outside antagonist stirring shit up. The middle of last season floundered because there were no characters besides the core group, and they made Blair and Serena friends. Which was fine, but then there was no drama. They need to keep up these recurring she devils like Georgina and Katherine.

The Dan/Serena scenes actually...gasp! didn't annoy me either. This episode was just totally on point, one of the best of the whole series. This season has been amazing, I hope they keep it up.

Nate is still just SO incredibly boring. I like his Ice Queen mother though <3 I agree with whoever said they should make the family actually lose it all for a while, just for an interesting story line.
