good point, but i can't see peggy doing that. i can't see peggy telling anyone who the father was. she hardly acknowledges the baby even exists. she obviously told mom (and by extension, sis) the father was a married man, but almost certaintly nothing more. peggy is cool that way. and there is no evidence that mom or sis saw don in the hospital.

I agree with OG, in that I don't think it would be in Peggy's character to claim Don was the father. I think that Peggy's mom & sister just assumed that Don is the father, since he called to find out where Peggy was and tracked her down and visited her at the hospital. Don's little speech to Peggy obviously triggered her "recovery" and she did as Don told her and gave everyone what they wanted, i.e., came to the "realization" she had a baby, so they would deem her mentally fit again and able to join the real world again. I don't think Peggy said Don was the father or even that Pete really was the father, just that she made a mistake. The mother and sister just made the wrong assumption that Don is the daddy.

I am so glad we got that pivotal flashback, though, as it explains so much. I also really like the idea that Don knows that "uber-uptight & moral" Peggy got herself knocked up and that Don was so supportive and pivotal in setting Peggy back on track and is still treating Peggy with respect.

I'm also of the mind set that Peggy's sister's baby died and she was "guilted" into raising Peggy's baby as her own. That would explain so much of the sister's barely contained disgust for Peggy and attempts to knock Peggy down. Internally, she is mourning the loss of her real baby, but she can't show it in public because everyone believes Peggy's boy is really hers.

I wasn't a fan AT ALL of the Bobbi character, until she schooled Peggy. Finally, Peggy is getting a clue and I will finally be able to start rooting for Peggy, rather than be disgusted and annoyed by her. Peggy has all the skills and drive to become successful, but she needs to learn that she has to use some of her feminine wiles to really be successful. There has to be a nice balance in order to succeed. Looking forward to Peggy getting a new "grown up" hair style next. That greasy ponytail and little girl bangs need to go ASAP.
