If a movie is set in a school or a prison, I'm pretty much guaranteed to love it.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Napoleon Dynamite.
Otherwise, lot's of good ones already mentioned, especially dazed and confused, election and fast times. A few honorable mentions: Pleasantville, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Christine. |

I was going to say NP, but I haven't seen it in a while and forgot it mainly took place in high school.

I so went out and was gonna buy the soundtrack, back in 98 but a ton of the songs in the movie aren't even on the soundtrack and a lot that aren't
are... but the movie does have great music!

For realz. There's a TON of good music missing from the CD. But it's still a GREAT CD.

No mention of "Lucas"?
Ferris is always #1 for me but as a Cusack fan "Say Anything" is near the top. And would "Karate Kid" and "Dead Poets Society" count as high school movies? |

Dazed and Confused is the closest any movie comes to my high school experience.

Dazed and Confused is technically a summer or party themed movie isn't it? It's focus is what happens over the summer.
Dead Poets Society counts in large amounts. |

Anyone who says "Can't Hardly Wait" needs to DIE...that movie is the most cliched, plotless, piece of crap ever produced by Hollywood, and for
some terrible reason, I kind of like the movie for it. But still, "best ever"? I don't think so.
Election is a more realistic and intriguing take on high school than most high school movies, so I'm tempted to say that...but I've gotta go with "The Breakfast Club." That being said, the ending of The Breakfast Club has always really irked me. It's too melodramatic. eta: Shit, Jessfrogger, that's the second time this month that we've butted heads on the boards. :tear |
