It wouldnt be entertaining if every episode took place at their house. Therfore, the prodcucers contact companines and see if they will let kate and jon get in free etc in exchange for advertisment in the episode.

LOL As far as tonghts episode: LOL @ Aadens disgusting hands comment and joels pants falling down not once, not twice, but three times! The kids seem more whiney tonight especially my favs joel and collin. Mady ofcourse is always whiny. I think if it wasnt for jon all the kids would be miserable. It was nice seeing him play with them at the beach while kate stood around and bitched about things.

Geeeez,I started something here..lol..I was just pointing out some things that others in here agree on too,..I was not nasty at all..well.maybe the comment I made about Kate's hair was a bit nasty..but she is so pretty..that haircut makes her look 10 years OLDER..it is not a good look for her,but I digress...and I could care less what her panty size is...I don't remember anyone in here asking that question yet....and I think the show would be more realistic if it were to have all the episodes at home,and had "more normal" family outings....I don't know many people that do the stuff they do in the real world..it seems pretty over the top...even for a tv show..what happens when the ratings drop..and they will..all shows do....what happens when they no longer have all the free stuff?..they won't be able to travel like this then..or have the perfect pricey clothes etc...it's like going from riches to rags....teehee..see how I switched that around?..all things aside..I do love the show and think the family is beautiful..I just worry what happens to them when it all goes away...

I thought Kate did rather well letting the kids make a mess and have fun. At first it seemed they were afraid to get dirty but I'm glad they got in the swing of it. And I thought Kate was a total bitch when she said something about doing it at someone else's house so she wouldn't have the mess. Guess they won't be getting that rental again!

At first, I thought it would sort of be a drag to have to do swim lessons on vacation, but they seemed to enjoy it. I also agree that swimming is an important skill for the kids to learn.

Maybe I haven't seen all the episodes but I haven't really scene outrageous family outings and don't most of the episodes take place at the home? I guess I could see that they are taking advantage of the extra money since I would think most of their money had to be going toward food and diapers but everything else seems fairly normal to me. Disney World, Rollerblading, going to a farm, going to a local amusement parks, the zoo, going to the beach, and going to the mountains...aren't outrageous trips. They might have had four more kids then my family did but we managed to do those things and still get by. Maybe my family wasn't going to Oprah, Hawaii, or to speaking engagements but those all seems like normal family activities to me. And hey if you can get a television channel to pay for some airport seats wouldn't you? Wouldn't you try to reap the benefits as long as you can?

Who needs Beth and Jodi? And that catty comment aside, I understand what Kate meant by she'd never have that mess at her house. We don't see a lot of their backyard at home but where they were staying had a water supply and concrete area close to hand. It was easy to hose the kids off and get rid of the mess outdoors where the water wouldn't create any problems. I can see the advantages. What I shake my head at is Kate's pride that she let her kids make a mess and she didn't freak out. Did she really need to keep telling us? Loved the Joel plumber shots the cameraman kept viewing. Joel is such a sweetie.

Hmm..well no..it is over the top to me..I am not able to go on trips like that with my kids and I bust my a$$ just to keep the rent paid and food on the table,and yes we go places but not like that..and when I do it..it is on MY dime....god forbid I should ask for a little help..so yea..when I bust my ass and still can't take my kids to neat places that cost a fortune like they do on SOMEONE elses dime,and my kids ask me why I don't take them to all those places..then I guess I am a bad parent?..for not being able to do what they do and apparently you as well..good for you..I am happy you are able or will be able to take your kids to all those costly places and put them in designer clothes,I can't do that (or you had a better childhood than me,because I never did those things)..My point..the show is no longer a reality..it is "look what I got in this episode" I am not jealous as you most likely are thinking..frustrated yes..jealous no..I do the best I can for my 3 kids,with a few well planned perks for them and in return they are and will be well adjusted..not expecting a handout because they are a sextuplet or a twin that "used" to be on TV. They are a beautiful family;I have nothing against them,like I said earlier..they do deserve some of the perks,but they are being exploited...that's not being nasty nor is it jealousy on my part,that is my opinion.

The point of the show is to show people what it like to raise eight kids. Where they go just adds to that because of the obstacles etc they face at the different places. Many of the places they have gone would be very easy for a small family to do, but because of the size of their family it can be difficult and usually results in some kind of conflict. I cant even think of an example of a place they went where they DIDNT have conflict. If kate and jon arent going at it, then you can bet some of the kids will be. It is reality because it shows how they adapt to different places and situations.

At any rate..the plummer shots were so cute!..and the chocolate painting!!!..holy cow...they really got into that!..lol..I bet the girls hair was a sticky mess to clean..teehee. Anyone know how Jon's hair transplant is going?..it was kinda hard to tell if there was any new sprouties as he called them..teehee..I think on that episode Jon said it would take 9 mos to a year for the new sprouties after the transplanted ones fell out (leaving the cell behind to grow new sprouties)

If a mother and father taht only had two children were going to L.A. for a hair transplant they may very well take the kids. So this fits in great with my point because having eight kids impacted who would go on the trip, who would stay at home and where they would stay.
