Yankees had no lefty all year until they got Marte. Unreal.

I saw Manuel brought him late against the Fish because there was no one else and he gave up 3-4? runs which broke the game open. I thought maybe they were
trying to convert him into a reliever for lefty situations. I can't believe Romero is lone southpaw.

well they brought happ up with the expectation that one of these two things would happen a) myers would suck and/or b) blanton would suck. then myers went out
and gave up like 2 total earned runs to the nats and cards, and blanton pitched really well too so he couldnt take either place.

Well, Mariners beat TB with a Raul walk off home run. I almost feel bad cause TB needs to win to stay ahead of the Yankees, and the Mariners winning means
absolutely nothing.
But it was exciting. |

Cubs really need to expose TLR and the Red Birds for the frauds that they are this weekend, especially with the Brewers having 7 games vs. The Natspos and The
Badres.

I really wish June and July would have been used to give Dillard and DeFilice another shot, as well as Pena. Find lighting in a bottle with one of 'em and
ride it out.

Since it's been clear for some time now that the Marlins are the Phillies most serious overall threat, i've decided to become a Mets fan for the next
three days. Conversion will include not showering and slowing down and moving my lips when i read. I will however, change my underwear daily as i will be
shitting myself when the bullpen comes in.

Um, even if the Phillies lose the Mets still won't be in first, moron. Guess you'll have to go back to hiding for a few more days.

Um, how can you SLIDE into first place and still be in second? I guess you think a runner sliding into third can happen when their on their way to first base
as well.

On another note, my kid went with his friends to Times Square and came home with an Utley t-shirt jersey. He had to sneak it in. I was horrified. He
swore he just needed a Phillies shirt to add to his collection and that he would never ever wear it outside in the streets of Queens where we live.

I don't know if they are going to make the World Series, but I have to say this Cubs team is unlike any other I remember in terms of the potential
clutchness of just about every single batter up and down that lineup. Today Henry Fucking Blanco gets the game-winning RBI and Jim Edmonds comes up big while
other days it's DeRosa or Reed Johnson or Fontenot, not to mention the potential of the guys who are expected to be clutch - D.Lee and Aramis Ramirez. This
lineup is just kind of unbelievable.
Oh and speaking of Edmonds... I hope today's game ends whatever ill will any remaining retarded Cubs fans held for the man for his past Cardinal sin. Besides the whole home runs and everything, Tony who? was pretty fucking funny. And finally, happy 20th anniversary to "Let there be light" at Wrigley Field. |
