Maybe this is because I come from a ridiculously wealthy, WASPy part of America, but 5 homes seems reasonable (if you're rich) to me. Someone like Suze
probably splits her time between New York and L.A. You have a beach house and a ski house. Maybe she has an extra in her home town or something. Either way,
love the bitch.

Regarding the scripted aspect of the show, last month my coworker hung out with a guy who was on an earlier season of the D-list. He was the guy who
"won" the night at the hotel suite here in San Francisco decorated by Kathy. I think it was the Hotel Triton. The episode was about how this guy came
in and just bitched about how awful it was and what a terrible job she did. Basically he told my coworker that the whole thing was staged, and in fact he (the
suite "contest winner") is in fact a really good friend of Kathy's. But that doesn't make for a funny storyline.... so you just have to take
it all for what it is - a TV show.

By now I've come to terms with the show probably being 90% staged with Kathy mostly ad-libbing besides a few selected lines that are probably written. I just look at it as comedy loosely based on her life. It's still hilarious and hasn't reached the levels of ridiculousness of "The Simple Life"'s last season. |

reality tv in general has lost its "real" meaning ever since the first few seasons of TAR/BB/Survivor. we really need to bring that aspect back.

Am I being completely oblivious that the first season of D-List was probably at least 80% real? Except for obvious things like the meetings with friends at

I never liked Suze Orman, I find her unbearble to hear/watch. She might have good financial advice but just the pain of listening/watching her, I'll
