I have also needed new athletic shoes for a couple of years. I hate to shop.
So, this weekend Georgia is having a Sales Tax Holiday for Back To School Supplies and Clothing. The fact that I completed my education many decades ago doesn't matter. Yay!
Earlier this week, one of my elected State Reps called me up to remaind me about the Tax Holiday and encouarge me to take advantage of it. I planned a Shopping Trip for Friday.
The first stop was DSW for the shoes. 3 pairs of shoes and a few extra items. Total bill around $140, Tax =$1.25 because the "extra items" were not actually apparel. Next stop was Walmart. Several items of apparel (including new jeans) and a few extra items. Total bill $45, tax = $0.72.
You barely notice the 7%, but I sure appreciate not having to pay it. Especially for items I have needed so long and just haven't gotten around to buying.
So, now I have 3 new pairs of athletic shoes AND a new pair of jeans that fit and don't reveal body parts that are best kept covered.
