The real question is why are the Patriots in that commercial?
Finishing runner-up only means you're the first loser. |

Finishing runner-up only means you're the first loser. Kind of like the Fake Show. Only difference is Fluker Bowl 42 was one game, while the Greatics punished the Lakers over 6. They really need to do away with preseason games and make the Super Bowl a series, that way only the truly great teams will win, not mediocre ones who got hot at the right time |

The Packers reaction to Favre really makes no sense to me.

Packers offering Favre 20 million over ten years to stay retired? That's what ESPN is discussing right now.

Angela in WI wrote: It was dumb, but not illogical. Ted Thompson wants to be in charge, and he can't do that with Favre around. So he pressured Favre to retire, so the Pack could 'move on'. Favre decided he didn't want to retire after all (and he's certainly not the first player to do so), so Favre said he wanted to come back or get his release. Thompson doesn't want Favre to play, and he doesn't want to release Favre because the two teams that are the best fit for Favre are Chicago and Minnesota. So he told Favre he could hold the clipboard for Aaron Rodgers, thinking Favre would back down. Now the Packers want to trade him, and are asking for a first round draft pick for a player that they have publicly said is not good enough to even compete for the starting QB spot. And every team knows that the Pack will have to cut Favre by opening day, so all they have to do is keep offering a 6th round pick until the Packers are forced to cut Favre. Then the Vikings will sign him. And every player on the Packers (and the rest of the NFL) is rooting for Favre. If the Packers treat a living legend like this, every player on the Packers is thinking "What are they going to do to me in a few years?" I guess now that i think about it, maybe you're right. Did Thompson really think he could win a pissing contest with one of the most competitive human beings in the world? |

Now that NBC has added Dan Patrick to their Football Night In America lineup the question needs to be asked - how many non-football guys can they stuff into
one booth? Costas is a baseball guy, Olbermann is a political commentator whose favorite sports is baseball, and Patrick is there to recreate the puke-worthy
magic that he had with Olbermann 100 years ago, and he's not a pure football guy either (he played basketball in college, and has never done any
football-only gigs). Cris Collinsworth is very good, but you know he won't get as much face time as those other "stars", and the other former
players will get a minute here and there. And even when you look at those other players - is there any other former NFL player who seemed as happy to retire as
Tiki Barber?

Why it took them so long to induct Art Monk into the HOF is beyond me.

CRA, when you go to make your picks in that yahoo game, is there a way to tell which is the home team, or do I have to look that up myself?
