On the Sesame Street episode Kate said it took them over 2 hours to dress the kids for the water park. TWO HOURS? Why does she exaggerate like that to make
it seem like a big woe-is-me moment? Not only does it only take a few minutes to get a kid ready for a swim, but they had a HELPER with them, so there were 3
"parents" and 8 kids. And 2 of the kids surely can dress themselves, right? Argh.

Kate never asked for 8 kids. The sextuplates came from fertility treatments. Most fertility treatments only produce 1 or no kids. Its not like their the Duggars who have 17+ kids naturally. |

It's a common misconception that Jon and Kate did invitro - they actually did a much cheaper procedure called a medicated IUI (intrauterine insemination) which has a much greater risk of multiples. Medicated IUI: Kate has a condition called PCOS which makes her unable
to ovulate naturally (among other fun symptoms like acne, weight gain and excessive body hair). Kate took drugs causing
her to release several eggs at once. They injected a sample of Jon "little guys" directly into Kate's
uterus and let nature take its course. Generally, you're lucky if 1 or 2 fertilize and grow into babies.
But sometimes it's a lot more!
Invitro: Woman takes drugs causing her to grow several eggs at
once. Eggs are removed surgically and fertilized in a lab. The embryos grow in
the lab for 3 to 5 days and then the best 2 or 3 are transferred back into the uterus. Any remaining embryos are frozen
for future pregnancy attempts. You often see twins and sometimes triplets from invitro.
But not 6!!!

Rumor has it that TLC is building them a new, large, multi-acre home in South Carolina (where the show's production crew is based.) In a recent episode
('boys day out' I believe) Kate asked Jon when they were moving to a warmer climate and he said "soon." So we'll see!
They have stated that they hope to be a new home by this coming autumn. It's not a secret that something is in the works and has been for awhile. They've often dropped hints about what they "wich" they had in a new home as well. Swingset for 8 please! Just so everyone knows what they want donated next... And I can't believe people are still buying into this "they couldn't afford it if it wasn't free" shpiel. They've had a regular television series for 3 years now. Jon has been able to recently quit his regular job. They've hired a Hollywood PR agency to handle their bookings and have upped their public appearance rates to $25K. Wake up and smell the dollar signs, people. They are not hurting financially. They are just very good at continually milking the cash cow, accepting "love offerings" and selling photos of their children to strangers.
