To be fair, Amanda IS Eliza's inferior.

I hate when people get up in front of the final two and say "congratulations, you both played a great game. tell me about your best move" or something like that. It's so lame. Face it Eliza, you were just bitter in Vanuatu and you were bitter in Micronesia because people who you felt were your inferiors (Twila, Parvati, Amanda) outplayed you. zing! Waiting a long time for the opportunity to use this one, eh? Doesn't quite go with the Fallen Comrades-Pres candidates comments, but you got it in. Lol. Someone here commented early in the season that Eliza knew what the eds wanted in confessionals and delivered. I'd say ditto for the jury questions. zing! Waiting a long time for the opportunity to use this one, eh? Doesn't quite go with the Fallen Comrades-Pres candidates comments, but you got it in. Lol.After sixteen seasons, I've grown tired of the forced histrionics of some of the jurors (eg. Judd, Shane, Alex A., Lisi, Natalie, Ozzy in Micro., Eliza in Micro.). It's not that I have anything against juries being angry but I prefer when they confront them about their actions during the game (eg. Gregg to Katie in Palau or Eliza to Twila/Chris in Vanuatu or Helen to Brian/Clay). What I object to is when I sense that the jurors specifically say things to either embarass or hurt the finalists that has nothing or little to do with the game. To this day, IMHO, John Carroll still gave the best jury question - "Why the hell should I give you my vote?". It was direct and to the point. I know it seems like a bitter speech, but I really wasn't bitter at all, I just think that most jury questions are so mundane and boring that I wanted to spice things up. I still say this is something you'd have to take up with the editors. Everything the viewer has to make opinions about a character's statements and behavior is edited. Keep in mind that, "...nothing or little to do with the game", refers to the game you were shown. |

Those were all personal statements that had little to do with gameplay. |

But when Amanda speaks, it makes everyone want to kill themselves, so I think that was still okay.

But when Amanda speaks, it makes everyone want to kill themselves, so I think that was still okay. Lol, Kitty! Yeah, that's the other side of it. We didn't have to live with these people. The game is designed for irritation and frustration. In Amanda's defence, I gotta concede that she did close the deal in the final challenge in two back-to-back seasons. |

It's hard to be too down on Amanda overall as a player, but undoubtedly can make the statement that she's just not good at facing the jury. Of course
that makes the difference between winning and losing so does reflect on her overall player-ness, but you gotta give some props for making it that far twice in
a row. Isn't the lesson learned that when you face the jury you flatter the jury not by saying "It's so hard to be here and make this decision I
feel guilt awful oh how horrible woe is me" and rather say "I'm sorry if you're feelings are hurt, but I knew Cirie would win because she was
the best player out here so I had to vote her off as my best shot at winning."
How's everyone doing? I figured I'd stop in and say hello. My wife's at 37 weeks as of this coming Tuesday which means the baby is full term and could come whenever he chooses! Ultrasound estimates put him at 6lbs 14 ounces, which means if he makes it to his 40 week due date, he'll probably be just under 8 pounds. I can't believe Chaperone's about to be a dad! I'll post an update when little chaperone enters the breathing world. |

I don't think Amanda getting to the end twice is that big of an accomplishment, given her demographic. She's a young, semi-attractive brunette that
has physical strength for challenges and doesn't really upset people with her personality. She's guaranteed to make the endgame unless her initial
tribe sucks.

I think that we would like Amanda more if she had been on TAR instead of Survivor where she wouldn't have to vote people out and face a jury. She is able
to retain her composure during the physical challenges and would probably do well on the physical tasks on TAR. She might be comparable to the Beauty Queen
team of Dustin and Kandace who were popular enough with TAR viewers to be invited back to TAR All Stars. I'm not a big fan of hers but I think that Amanda
gets more criticism than she deserves because she is the only contestant to play 2 complete games of Survivor. Her losing both times has more to do with her
not having an overall game plan (unlike Todd and Parvati) which she can explain and defend to the jury. She plays too conservatively and won't own up to
voting people out.

Bingo. That's exactly what her problem was.
Both Parvati and Cirie said she kind of just hung out with them and made very few decisions, probably because she was afraid to be seen as the mastermind. Or her conscience took over, because she even said post Micro that blindsiding James is a huge regret of hers because she felt so bad about it. Survivor's just not for her than. But I will give her props for making the finals on both seasons. Good demographic or not, it takes skill to do it twice. |

Kitty Pryde1 wrote: hahahaha. Thanks. No, but seriously, I was explaining to them what I thought of them in the game (perhaps a little more harshly than necessary), but they were pretty horrible to me for the 24 days I spent out there, so it was my turn to express myself and I made it colorful. I'd been sitting at Ponderosa with LOTS of free time for longer than anyone else, so I wanted my jury question to be a zinger. |

Hey, Warrior. Welcome back!
Things are pretty quiet these days, here at the asylum. Someone has made a tally of the overall ratings. I haven't looked for them (yet), but if anyone knows or has it, please repost it. |

...they were pretty horrible to me for the 24 days I spent out there,.. You seemed to be cut out of the social cliques pretty quick, Eliza. Ami too. Since watching the final jury scenes, I've been wondering if those at the Ponderosa were given the opportunity to watch episodes of Survivor China, since it was the one season not available to both fans and faves. Many of the slams on Amanda seemed related to her final jury performance in China.
