Toronto at Baltimore was suspended by rain in the top of the 6th and will be finished today. NL: Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Atlanta, New York, Milwaukee, Chicago, San Francisco Today's schedule consists of 7 full games plus the completion of the Toronto/Baltimore game from yesterday.

As for Myers, I was trying to work him in and couldn't decide between the 1-2-3 5th or a gopher free game, so I left him out. I heard the Phillies fans via the Phillies blogs picked a Mets game to stage a mass invasion at the beginning of the season. I can't remember if that was today or the previous series at Shea.

When I woke up this morning, I thought this game would be rained out but the weather seems to be clearing up. Anyway, great outing by Maine giving the team a lift after that devastating loss. Aside from the Victorino HR (what a fucking pest) and the Jenkins laser shot (that ball left the park in a hurry), Maine pitched well. As for Reyes, I can't remember him ever hitting more of a clutch home run. Way to go Jose. Mets have pretty much outplayed the Phillies for 17 of 18 innings in this series. Although, I am annoyed that the Mets stranded a billion runners on base and didn't put the Phillies away sooner. I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck Beltran was thinking when he bunted in the 8th w/ a career minor leaguer on deck. Just makes you scratch your head. Oh, and Marlon Anderson needs to stay on the bench indefinitely. Yeah SIG, there were more Phillies fans at yesterday's game than any Phillies/Mets game I've been to at Shea. After the Jenkins HR, I noticed quite a number of the Philly faithful scattered across the stadium who stood up and applauded. In my section, there were a few Phillies fans but there were older men who sat quietly throughout the game so I didn't get to heckle anyone. How disappointing. LOL Can the Mets please bomb 46 y/o Jamie Moyer for a change? Off to Shea....let's go Mets!

Stat showed Anderson had a lifetime .333 average against the wifebeater. Naturally as soon as he did that, he grounded out and kept up that pitiful performance all night long. Keep Anderson on the bench where he has value as a pinchhitter. Since the other teams are asking for the keys to Fort Knox and the Vatican (Nady, Bay, etc) and the GM's firstborns, just call up FMart to man LF and hope Church can man RF by mid August. Condolences to Pedro. RIP Paulino Martinez.

The same as the as the chances of those being aquired? Sabathia has 0% chance of being back, and Sheets' odds arent much better. There are rumors that Fielder could be on his way out as well. And usually gets on. I need a new law or something for him. Phew. Nerve wracking. You can't help but flash back to last year, Mets blowing a sure fire 1st game win (Wagner-Burrell) and the Sillies sweeping them, and think about the 1st game of this series. This could have been just as ugly. This will be a dogfight to the end. Now the Cards come to town. I just hope the smug phony LaRussa gets sent out of town. Now I'm going to go work out. Get rid of the rubber legs.
