I mean so that you don't see their posts stinking up thread after thread? Or is this just a fairytale feature, like unicorns and world peace?

Well, now two with this post. (P.S.- I use a mouse with a scrollwheel and use it liberally. If the poster I passed over says anything important, somebody later will quote it)

I understand the theory yes. Do people really complain to the admins and mods a lot ? I can see certain instances....but does it really happen a lot ? I can't recall complaining to an admin/mod here.

That is true but the best reason is for people who get fucking tired of picture posters. Someone like fake bart is just annoying when you have threads set for max number of replies per page. I'd love to ignore him every time he re-appears.
