Excellent performances, good script, cool tools. This kind of movie just isn't an Oscar type movie though. I think the Oscar should go to PATC for keeping Katie out of it.

I expect we'll be seeing Catwoman in the next film, but with none of that nine lives bullshit from Batman Returns If they really wanted to make it epic the could do a story along the lines of The Long Halloween with Holiday as the killer

Ledger's performance may have even deserved more hype. Though, it was too long. AND WHY WAS CILLIAN MURPHY'S FACE IN IT FOR 2 SECONDS? I wish it had been in longer. But ah well.

Seems like there's been too many CATWOMEN (though I'd love to see a re-imagined Selena Kyle et al.).

I'm so sick of the "the only reason people are praising Ledger's performance is he died" cunts. First of all, the buzz about his Joker started several months before he died. I went in with a pretty open mind about it and he was just fucking brilliant. His death obviously casts a gloomy shadow over it all and will always be tied to the performance in movie history, but it doesn't make it any more amazing.

The Black Mask really does fit into the tone Nolan goes for in the movies.

And I don't know if I was just hanging on to every single word Heath Ledger said in this movie or if he just stole the show, but I LOVED him as the Joker. Fuck Nicholson. Fuck him in the ass. Ledger owned the part. It is really truly ashame he's not around to see this fantastic final product. I doubt he'll get an Oscar nod, and I won't jump on the bandwagon of folks saying he should be nomintated, but...DAMN.

My two oldest sons have already seen it and said it didn't disappoint at all, was the best superhero movie they've seen and that they actually were wanting more even after 2 1/2 hours. We have a lot of the same tastes in movies, so if they liked it so much, I'm sure I will.
