San Jose is Bay 101 Shooting Stars, right? That's an awesome structure, how'd you make out? Play with any notables?

Not quite, it was LAPT (Latin American Poker Tour) San Jose in Costa Rica. I busted out in the first hour with the pocketed aces, qualified through the steps on stars. Saw Negreanu and Humberto Brenes at the welcome party which was cool.

Congrats on grinding a profit! I can't seem to beat it consistently so I just play satellites and micros.

Have you considered playing the small buyin wsop events? I bet you could take down a 1.5k nl event. :)

I could talk poker all night. I'm sticking mostly to big multitable tournies .... if I play a ring game online, it's usually PLO8.

Nah, I just overplayed my hand and didn't give my opponent any credit.

We're in the first level 25/50 with 10k stacks. UTG limps, Button limps, SB limps, I'm BB and I look down at Ah-As then make it hot preflop to 300, UTG and SB fold, Button calls. 10 4 2 rainbow flop: I pot button calls. 6 on the turn: I pot button reraises big adding like 3,000 on top of $1700 pot sized raise, I thought for a bit then called. 7 on the river: I bet something stupid like 1 or 2k, button goes all in, and I tank and think for a few minutes and make a crying call, button shows 3 5 and I get shown the exit door.

At the time, I thought there was a chance he had an overpair too, but its really unlikely that the button will limp a strong pp. I wasn't thinking right, a set (most likely) or a straight (still very possible) on a low coordinated board is way more likely than someone limping a big pair. Made a big mistake and overvalued a single pair.

I even saw a cardrunners video the day before about overvaluing an overpair, but couldn't put it into practice.
