TAR also could make history this year as the only series to ever win six Emmys in the series category, let alone six consecutive wins in the series category. Their other categories were: Outstanding Cinematography for Reality Programming Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Prorgamming Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming

But in all fairness, his role is nowhere near as involved as Jeff or Ryan Seacrest. Phil basically greets people at the mat, explains roadblocks/detours, and does voiceovers. Jeff has to interact with the contestants at tribal council and challenges, and Ryan hosts a live show.

Jeff, Ryan, Tom, and Heidi's roles on their shows still pale in comparison to other hosts who actually do stuff. Of the 5, Howie is probably the only deserving one for actually interacting with the contestants for the entire show.

Phil is one of the reasons TAR has won 5 for 5 and ignoring him for Tom Bergeron instead is just plain dumb.

He doesn't stutter or miss a beat. I find myself rewinding and listening 2 or 3 times to understand the rules. He comes to the table totally prepared and professional.

And that said, I really don't think Howie should be there. I wouldn't consider Deal Or No Deal to be a reality show.. it's a game show. Yeah, technically you could say TAR and Survivor and any show where the players compete for a prize are game shows as well, but there's still a difference. Oh well.. as long as TAR wins another Emmy i'll be happy!

I am guessing that it was the TAR 12 India leg or/and TAR12 1st Burkina Faso leg or/and TAR12 Pilot episode. Those are the best episodes of TAR12. And YAY for the total Survivor snub. LOL. With this episode, it's a definite win already. This is the episode when I was literally jumping in excitement and cursing in so much disappointment... "Dammit Kynt!! Why not Jen and Nate!!!!!!!!!!!" And oh, this was also the episode that proved how dumb TK and Rachel are... "Oh... They look so frazzled. " And another oh, the "Find the clue in the newspaper task" was genius.

News about it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7526874.stm It would have been a great opportunity to promote TAR if he was one of the nominees and got to host. Makes me think they had this idea of the hosts hosting the Emmy BEFORE the nominations were made.
