Did anyone else hear that Gary and Sylvia drew rocks or something for the leader position?

55. Tribes divided by Race
Seasons: Cook Islands Memorable Quote: "All races are equal." -Burnett Yeah, I'm calling that bullshit quote out. Come on. I understand that in Guatemala, some people were angry that it was 17 whities and Lydia running around, but think about this for one second. And for all the people reading this, no I'm not mad about them dividing the tribes by race, I can somewhat understand that at least because it drew in viewers. What I'm pissed off about is the way casting thought that three middle aged ladies, a fat ass, and Nate would be able to compete with three fit tribes with one anchor each tops. And that's being nice if you're counting Jonathan and Coi Boi as anchors. Why don't you just kick two of them off to start the game if that's the way casting will work? Without Ozzy's amazing strategic abilities, Hiki easily loses both challenges, and they almost did lose to Aitu who was freaking THROWING it. Yes, bloated casts piss me off. Yes, getting ratings through stunt casting pisses me off. But the least you can do is make the tribes somewhat fair. 54. Outcasts Return
Seasons: Pearl Islands Memorable Quote: "It's all about revenge!"- Michelle Keep guessing BJ and Steph, they'll come up eventually. Here's finally the dreaded Outcasts twist. It is easily one of the worst ideas ever, and I know alot of people would put this last. Unfortunately, this is one of the twists that Burnett got lucky and somehow hit the jackpot. Pearl Islands was a great season up until the final 10, but we all know without this thrown into the mix, the post merge wouldn't be considered anywhere cloes to the best in history. And besides without this twist, Fairplay finishes 10th, and Osten ends up winning the game. I mean, we really wouldn't have seen any backstabbing as the Morgan douchebags just pagong Drake, and Osten'll quit when he knows his tribe is safe to run in for the win. That's not entertaining TV. What's entertaining TV is Sandra cussing out Fairplay. What's entertaining TV is Rupert falling off his high horse. What's entertaining TV is Thunder D. What's entertaining TV is Lill owning Fairplay in the final IC. What's entertaining TV is Andrew during the actual outcast challenge...
You get the picture. All in all, Lill and Burton coming back into the game can't be ranked any higher because it was such an unfair twist especially with the rigged challenge. I mean, I know no one gives a rats ass about Shawn, Osten, Savage, and Ryno (the four main people it screwed over), but it can't be ranked over the twists that at least looked good on paper, even if they did happen to fail miserably. 53. Idols are rehidden
Couldn't find a picture with the real one, but this'll do. Seasons: Fiji, Micronesia Memorable Quote: "I don't know why he's trippin'." -Natalie I am not a huge fan of the hidden immunity idol, let's get that out of the way. Alright? Good. Now, here we have a twist that definitely did bring us some entertainment in Micronesia. Only one problem. It got old. So Ozzy found the original idol, yada yada yada, he didn't play it and went home. Priceless. That's not this twist though. The next episode, Probst says the idol is rehidden. Great. Jason is a dumbass and forgets to take it out of his pants. Priceless. It was a great twist just for that one moment. Then, Probst says the same thing again, and I thought back to last episode. I wondered why was it so easy for Jason to find it...and I realized that CBS was just trying to get use out of it. So we get what I personally thought was one of the worst episodes ever (sorry to the Amanda fans) because it was extremely predictible what would happen. You knew Amanda would find it especially after how easily Jason found it. You knew CBS just wanted to do it for shock value, well guess what, I was bored. It might have been the fact that I didn't give a crap about Alexis leaving, or the fact that I was rooting for Natalie and Erik. But I wasn't angry, I was just bored. Then we get the same thing next episode, and I'm thanking Parvati so much for not bringing the idol back because we got a whole lot of entertainment, just by people strategizing. They didn't need a twist that round, and they didn't need a twist the round before. All the editors had to do was make Cirie look like she was keeping Amanda, or better yet, she actually does because there's no idol. A purple rock may have pissed more people off, but it would have been that much more exciting. So basically, I liked this twist once. Not the first time it was used though because remember what happened in Fiji? Anyone still remember why Yau Man gave up the car and sent HIMSELF to Exile Island? Oh yeah, that was because they rehid the idol. I'm not saying that the most despicable thing in Survivor history happened because of this twist, but it felt like it to me. Yau made the deal because he had control of one idol. He knew that he'd get control of the second one after he sent himself. All he had to do was make sure he was safe at the final 4, and he was home free. |

*gasp*
The episode where Amanda found the idol and vanquished the Sea Hag was one of my all-time favourite episodes! She played it perfectly... |

Don't want this to turn into another thread arguing about Amanda, so I'll just say I disagree. Loved her in China, hated her in Micronesia.
ETA- She's not the reason I hate that twist though. |

Like it or not, Outcasts made PI. I guess it was "unfair" that it didn't happen on any other season.

52. Late Merge (for no apparent reason)
Seasons: Palau Memorable Quote: "Bobby Jon, the tribe definitely hasnot spoken tonight, nonetheless it's time for you to go." -Probst Here is another one on the list that quite a few people would last, and frankly, I'm not positive how it made it this high because Bobby Jon's departure might be the most unfair elimination in Survivor history.I actually had the onealot higher because I forgot what thisended up causing. When you think aboutthe late merge in Palau, theonly thingyou remember (or me at least)was the actual merge ofSteph joining a tribe of 8. Let's just say the reason this makes it this high is because I care so little about Palau that I forgot about it. This twist just happened to beat the dead horse of a season that I already wasn't a huge fan of (because of Wanda and Jonathan leaving and something else that you'll see very soon). So for anyone who, like me, forgot about the consequences of having a late merge were, let me remind you. It's the final 10. Eight Korror remain (only Willard leaving due to the double boot), as well as two Ulong. Every season except Thailand and All Stars has had a merge at 10, so both tribes went to meet Probst expecting just that. Unfortunately, he lets them know that they'll be having a gross food challenge instead. I was rooting for Ulong to finally pull one off, but of course, they lost. As soon as that happens, a huge warning sign goes off in my head. How the fuck are they supposed to vote someone out? Well we find out that they are having a challenge to see who goes, the first in history. Neither has a chance to save themselves through the actual game of Survivor, but by who can make a fire faster. Steph obviously won, and BJ was sent packing. Probst even said by his quote that the tribe didn't speak, he was just screwed over. Basically, this twist was 100% pointless (since Bobby Jon might have left first at the merge anyways), and I still don't understand why couldn't they merge. I think they just wanted to test out Steph living on her own to see if they could somehow include it as a later twist. (Also, did anyone notice in the video that they got matches at the very start? I didn't know that, and it doesn't make Becky and Sundra seem that bad since they didn't get a chance to start with them.) 51. Palau double boot
Seasons: Palau Memorable Quote: "Ibrehim's overstayed his welcome. He was meant to go last time, and by the grace of Allah he didn't go. Now myGod says he is today." -James Angie's boot (and Willard's) being this low is 100% for personal reasons, and my hatred for Ibe. I couldn't rate it any lower though because the twist was at least somewhat fair on paper. Angie leaving early is mainly the reason I hate Palau since the only people who I could stand after she left were Bobby Jon and Gregg (and Steph sort of, but not that much, didn't buy into the storyline). For people don't know/remember what happened, Korror won the reward challenge meaning they got to eat in front of Ulong's tribal council on account of the double boot. First off, Willard's boot is one of the main reasons I hate the double boot because he had no way to save himself. The tribe that wins reward should get a chance to win immunity, not the other way around. So he leaves, doesn't even get the food that he helped win. Ulong comes up, bashes the shit out of Ibe the whole episode after he screwed up the challenge and made them lose. But wait, there's more to the twist. Everyone on Korror will now get to vote for the person who will receive immunity on Ulong. Guess who gets the most votes? Fucking Ibe because the girls felt sorry for him having to go throughhis life. Steph and Angie panic and send their votes to Bobby Jon. Bobby Jon andJames vote for Angie whileIbe votes for James. Angie is sent packing in the tie because Ibe. Great. This was the first time since Borneo (not counting All Stars) where my favorite castaway leaves pre merge. Not a good feeling, but I know I'm not the only one who felt that way. 50. Fire Making Challenge
Seasons: Palau (twice), Exile Island, Cook Islands Memorable Quote: "Wake up!" -Probst to the Cook Islands jury Here's the fire making challenge. Part of the reason it's this low is because of BJ leaving. The other reason it's here is because every time it's happened, I either don't care because ofone reason oranother(editing in CI/and just didn't care since Ian or Jenn wereobviously notbeating Tom)or the person I'm rooting for leaves (BJ and Cirie). There's not much really to say, it was only exciting the first time, and the suspense died the secondtime it happened. I've liked every other tie breaker much better, and I wish they'd bring them back. 49. 42 Days

the fact that I was rooting for Natalie and Erik. The other 90% of us who were rooting for Cirie, Amanda, or Parv loved the idol being rehidden. Best Amanda episode ever, and she saved the season for the Faves. It gave both Alexis and Erik tghe chance to be selfish dumbasses and opt for enjoying a reward over immunity. Amanda and Parv were there to play, and play they did. Racial qota casting was a much worse twist when they repeated it in Fiji, the only white girl went ep.1, and the 3 white guys were sucky players. If S13 was cast for Asian and White success, they sure made it up to the blacks in Fiji. |

I think the twist, food or immunity? might be next. It was in 3 seasons, Panama, Guatemala, and China, right?
